November 18th 2010 ......... They day that changed everything.
Thanks Rob I'd been vaping since December 2009 and was making it work for me. I have no idea if it would have continued had I not stumbled over here discovered this device. Sad to say I do not own the original one anymore but I...
I wouldn't go that far for me. The GEM is my least favorite for handling thicker juice and even with 70% VG I can't get above 10 watts. Not that that is a bad thing I normally vape around 10w but having to thin out my favorite juice makes me pick several other RTA's first. GSL is my fave for...
RxW is a fantastic wicking material but I've not tried it in the GEM I only have the fat wick here.
I find the flavor better than anything else and longevity is off the chart. You can dry burn it back to white for months and months. Fitment with the coil need to be very precise though. Not...
I think they should see the prototype in my left hand with the best woodvil you ever made in my right hand ...... ya know so they have a proper comparison ..... ya thats it.
I use the 3mm exclusively still and even with the darkest juice I can run 100's of ml on the same wick and coil.
every 4-5 bottles I dry burn until the coil glows clean. Then I pull the atty and rinse under hot water. Lastly go to my wall mounted hair dryer in the bath room and blow dry it...
One thing you could try is taking the time to flatten the lead ends manually before mounting. Tap them flat with a small tool then the screw heads will sit lower without putting so much torque to the small screws. Just an idea I use 29g myself with no issue.
Man if you can swing both go for it. I have 3 SQRs and only one Taifun GT2 but would to get another.
They are about equal in flavor.
Squape wins for ease of build and wicking.
Taifun GT wins for ease of filling.
Taifun has the "smoothest" airflow of anything I own. Never really thought about...
I vote Taifun GT2 ...... its my all day along with a few Squapes :) Had an ErlKo a while back an it just seemed too picky, things had to be just right. The Taifun is fool proof along with the Squape R and they are the devices I like to own.
I've had my Gem a couple weeks and nailed the wicking right from the get go with 50/50 my tank tester juice. But with 80vg with very little cotton I'm capped at about 9.5 watts and have to tighten the airflow some to keep up with my long light draws. Since I like to DIY my juice for everything...
Got my WAE today ...... Wow is it amazing, put the GEM on it and showed it off at the local vape store. Had two people ask me if it was a 14500 device :)
One thing I forgot about was the DNA30's lack of step down. I vape really low wattage and take long draws. I'm used to building 1.2-1.4...
Make sure the pos leg does not go down and hit the deck, if you look the pos post is raised slightly and the wire need to remain off the deck at all times.
Just built my GEM for the first time and she's vaping pretty good.
I went easy on it for the first build as far as RTA's go ...... 1.2 Ω 28g 2.5mm with some 60/40 juice.
One question: Is the tiny pin that aligns the atomizer head supposed to stay in place ?? Mine fell out the first time I...
