ok folks so here goes, branching out a bit from my ramblings about juice for a moment....my "first" review of a mod....i mean yeah i've said my 2cents worth about mods before and cig-a-likes....so here's my 2cents run down about the HeartVape Defender

This mod quickly grew on me....it's simple, small, lightweight and fits nicely in the hand
This mod comes curtsy Heaven Gifts, some real nice folks I've had the privilege to be in contact with this year.
(saying that, let me state, that as always that by no means waivers my judgement of the mod...if you don't know me I speak my mind regardless )

So bare with me, ya'll know I tend to ramble...
So I was offered a very nice gesture and heck who could say no
They mailed me a mystery gift and it arrived within 4 days

and boy where they protective

i've had it for a while, but i had been too sick to give it a review yet.....I vaped it for a day and had some initial thoughts...a week later, still loving it but found one pet peeve but still vaping on it several weeks later....my istick 30 is feeling quite jealous
for those familure with the istick 30w, I think you'll love this little baby, it's only about an inch taller and more rounded off so it's quite comfortable to hold....and it's a centered connector

so let's break this thing down....

I vaped on this baby pretty much nonstop for a good 57+ hours before the battery died.....i've been eating through juice like a mad woman

so the mod comes very well packaged and then shrink wrapped with all kinds of stickers to prove it's not been opened

so let's pop the cherry on this beauty

mine came with the micro usb and while not listed it came with a lanyard...the mod itself has a slot on the side to add the lanyard

i love how this fits in the hand, just quite comfortable

The button is nice and clickly (there is a bit of a button rattle, yes i shook the mod lol)
standard 5 clicks on and off, 3 clicks to change from vv to vw

oh and this baby....loving it...centered 510/ego spring loaded connection with this awesome adapter

OH GOD I BROKE IT.....

JUST KIDDING.....

no your eyes aren't deceiving you....that adapter comes out to flip over and become an ego/510 adapter

the 510 side has 4 nice air channels to give a good draw but still tight enough of a draw for the tootle puffers

vaping on a 2.1ohm at 8.5w this thing is nice....

one downside I do not like is that the charging port is on the base

which then leads me into my pet peeve....after vaping this bad boy to death found out that it is not a passthrough battery....what the freak?!?! I mean common now.....why not????

but that hasn't stopped me from vaping on it....

So...overall, this mod is a great little mod with an awesome adapter good range on vv/vw and great battery life, it's still very pocketable.....oh i forgot to mention, hold down the up or down button and it will start to automatically run through the vv/vw until you press the opposite direction but it is very slow.....and it does not round robin so then you have to go either back up or down to the setting that you want....

sitting at $36 price point (give or take) this is well worth the price and a great first time mod or backup mod
like I said, at the moment my istick30w is feeling jealous as it's been just sitting around as a back up when charging the defender

just an update....man I'm really loving this thing my istick 30w has barely been touched.....
I can't put my finger on it, but it just seems, to me, to perform better....and I think for my slight ocd, having the connector in the center also did the trick
typically with all other devices i've tried I stick to the 4v and under range or around the 8 to 8.5w range
with this beauty i've been able to up it on most occasions to the 13w mostly without any burning

now there's the obvious wear and tear on the bottom of the mod, that's normal
of course i've already dropped the dang thing plenty of times and knocked it over but it's held up pretty well....
there some noticeable scratching on the led protective plate
surprisingly the paint job has held up very well, just a few teeny tiny spots where it's been chipped, barely noticeable
what is noticeable is the fire button however....at some point between wear and tear and oils in my fingers the finish has worn off so it's not the high glossy chrome finish...it's more a rough texture now....so you may want to somehow coat that if that' going to bother you

aside from just aesthetics I have no complaints over this device whatsoever and would highly recommend it to any vapor, especially those that like the isticks but would rather have a centered 510 connector
lol well other than the initial pet peeve of why isn't it a passthru battery and move the charging to the side instead of the bottom
