Hi all,

New to dripping, but not vaping.

I started DIY about a month or so ago and in my quest to find a better way to test, went to dripping instead of clearomizers/tanks.

I had a REAL old carto from the first kit I bought years ago (before things got better), Smokestik.
Don't even remember the model # for the carto, but I bought an adapter to make it work on my ego-t etc.

My result was less than good. Low taste, low throat hit, low vapor.
Then, yuck chemical taste, burning throat hit, lots of vapor.
I assume that is right before I totally burn dry.

From a lot of reading I decide to go with new 306's and 510's.

I got my 306's in today and tried one out.

Same result.

Low taste, low throat hit, low vapor.
Then, yuck chemical taste, burning throat hit, lots of vapor.
I assume that is right before I totally burn dry.

I am running 650-1000 mha 3.7v and 2.5 ohm 306 (same resistance as my e-smart clearos which I really like).
My juices are normally 70pg/30vg.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

TIA

Yes I did.
It had plenty of primer in it.
I ended up having to load with pg and burn 4 times (4 full cycles of load and use it up) before the taste went away and it started working properly.

Doesn't make sense that the OLD carto was doing the same thing though.
It had been thru several packs of cartridges and and it had just been cleaned thoroughly with vodka.

One of my new 306's came right apart at the threaded base when I went to take off the drip tip after use.
ROFL.

They are actually sending me another one!

Thanks.

Welcome!!!,

I run my 306's on an EGo, but I tend to get better results with 1.5Ω-1.8Ω resistance.
Currently you are at ~5 watts; a 1.8Ω will take you to ~7W and the 1.5Ω will take you to ~9W.
Many users find happiness in the 7-11 watt range.

Cheers
