Are they legit? Is the ceiling on these things really 65amps? How about the 40amp? (They offer a 40amp 26650 as well)

It's been awhile since I've used a Mech mod. Just last year 30amps was questionable on most batteries but the authentic VTC4's.

So is this just marketing hype or what? Anyone tested these?

26650's in general don't perform as well as a decent 20A 18650 but many have higher capacity. Their internal resistance is just too high.

That 65A rating absolutely not a continuous rating as no 26650 I tested even made it to 30A comtinuous. I think the 65A rating is generous even for a "pulse" rating.

Those numbers are complete fiction, check Mooch's blog for the real numbers and choose accordingly.

Awesome, thanks guys, I pretty much suspected the same. I have a high wattage box mod that handles most of my work load when building, but I might be getting a job at a vape shop soon and wanted to start playing around with my 26650 mech mod again.
Was looking to build something in the .15 range, but all I've got are orange MNKE batts that I don't trust in that range at all.

I'm bookmarking this thread for quick battery reference purposes.
