I have a 0.16 coil so I’ll be pushing around 22 Amps would a sony vtc4 be safe or would I need a higher amp battery ?

Depends, are you using a regulated power device or single cell mechanical?

Single cell mech with .16Ω = Definitely not a good idea or 'safe'.
Especially if you didn't already know the answer.

Mech and Unregulated
4.2v/0.16ohms=26.25amps (Single Battery Mech, you'd really stressing a VTC4 (23amps Test CDR) and a VTC5A
(25amps Nominal and Tested CDR) leaving only the LG HB2, HB4, and HB6 true 30amp 1500mah batteries as the only ones to truly handle that, but even then you'll still be tearing them up internally and decreasing their overall extended lifespans. If this is on a Parallel Battery Mech Box Mod, then, due to the extra battery adds 50% more CDR to play with you can take a parallel mech box down to 0.14ohms which is 30amp total and use any 20amp or above 20amps battery 1, 10amps battery 2 = 30amps total battery support.
Series Mech Box Mod
8.4v/0.16ohms=52.5amps, not going to happen as there are no 18650s over 30amp True CDR, this scenario would be a literal fireworks boom in a heart beat

Regulated mod, the story changes, regulated meaning any mod with a digital display and can be adjusted by the user
Dual Battery Series Regulated
100watts set/6.4v Lowest Battery Voltage (or 3.2v per battery X2)/90% Mod Control Board Efficiency=17.3611amps needed
Triple Battery Series Regulated
100watts set/9.6v/90%=11.5741amps Needed

If you are getting your amp reading from a regulated mod display screen, please disregard what it is saying, that is the second amp signal in a regulated mod, the amps from the control board to the actual coils, not the amps from the batteries to the control board itself, the last one you figure that out manually using the formula in the last 2 examples.

Makes sense thought I had the math right guess not thanks for the info !
