I do like the 10440 but would like something shorter. Saw one for sale here and almost jumped on it.

If you want short did you ever consider a P+16? Uses a AW ICR 16340 750mAh ....

P+16340 Approximate Dimensions:
Width at widest point: 20mm EDIT:18.5mm
Length: 73mm

P+10440 Approximate Dimensions:
Width at widest point: 12.1mm
Length: 82.2mm

As you can see it is shorter than a P+10440. It would be only 2mm wider/1 mm taller than a mod using a 14250 battery. A P+16 is really tiny.. even has a locking button ...

I have a simplicity 18350 that is 2 5/8" long. That puts it about 1/4" shorter than the 16340 plus only bigger around. A 14250 simplicity with a aspire s would be about the size of an old cricket lighter. Besides I like the looks of the simplicity better than the plus.

Actually the P+16 is the one that is shorter...and it feels a lot smaller in the hand.. Thrust me a 14250 battery would suck....

If the p+16 is 73 mm that is 2.87 inches. The Simplicity 18350 I have is 2.62 inches that is about 66.5 mm. How is 73 shorter than 66?

I needed to reread the post before I commented.. I was comparing a P+16340 to a P+18350, how I didn't see the word Simplicity is beyond me? Back to the matter at hand... David will never build a 14250 mod... Odd ball sized battery with terrible run times/performance.. But if that's what you really want scartn I suggest you buy a 14500 Simplicity and take it to a machine shop, have it cut down and threaded.....

I know he will never build one but I think it would still be a cool mod and it would serve it's purpose. I have 2 14500s already and have thought about it but the tube is too thin where you would need to cut it down to to put the new threads.
