Annual physical.....Doctor fully approved of vaping...surprising

During my annual checkup today, the primary care physician fully approved of vaping versus smoking.

Was somewhat surprised by it as previously he had hedged on it. This time he said it was a good way to stop smoking.

Could be, he said nicotine isn't a known cancer risk and far better than smoking.

That must have been very nice to hear. Wonderful to have a Dr. who supports and most of all is educated.

My doctor recommended vaping, more than three years ago.

Most MDs have been waiting for the evidence.
As it has been coming in, and they have been seeing the results in their own patients, many have started to get off of the fence in favor of vaping, both as a way to successfully quit smoking, and as harm reduction.

Docs do actually read medical journals, I have a doc who supports vaping and HIS OWN vaping, and it's a fantastic thing since he's really knowledgeable and if I don't know something, I can ask him. But, it's lovely to see the new research coming out having a trickle down effect.

I always imagine that docs have stacks of medical journals in their bathrooms, but I never actually ask, LOL.

Shortly after quitting smoking with vaping, both my GP and Cardiologist gave it a big thumbs up but advised that I eliminate nicotine. They both changed my records to "former smoker." While both used to regularly ask if I had quit the smokes or was at least still trying, in almost 3 years now, neither has even brought up if I was off the nic or even trying. Right or wrong, I consider that to be approval for my vaping, even with nicotine.

He didn't seem to care to much about the nicotine. He did ask how much. I told him 3mg/ml about 14 ml a day. He was good with that.
