Are these batteries compatible?

Hi all,

I've recently torn apart my Aspire CF Sub ohm and found out it had a YDL 20600D 6.66Wh NA10 150121 cell in there. It's a loosely wrapped cell with soldered contacts.

I'm wondering if I can replace it with any high quality/Amp 18650 cell, like the Sony VTC5.

Any help would be great.

That battery is a much more powerful battery than any 18650 you can put in there it is a round lipo cell custom order and spec'd for the Cf Sub mod.
Those lipo cells are actually made with a similar chemistry (not 100% same)that a regular IMR has and is a little safer than a full lipo cell. A China company has the only patent for making those type cells and it was created for use in ecigs specifically.

You have to be careful it may use a n chan mosfet on the switch and with some rugged use the wrap on an 18650 cell wearing it will auto fire the mod if the tube is metal not cf. (It may) So protect the cell well since it will be in there good long while

The mod will run great with a 18650.. That 1800 mah cell is pretty nice but only 300-500 charges suxxs..

I'll try soldering an 18650 in there, making sure to wrap it properly. If there is a Chan Mosfet on the Cf Sub switch, could it be a serious hazard?

It's easy to test, if the battery negative lead goes directly to the aspire board and the ground does not touch the casing ya it a n channel. If ground goes to the body of the mod its not and you will be fine..

I shoulda researched the mod before chattin:
The 18650 edition of the cf mod is not n chan switched so you should be fine. But do take a looksee they may be different..
