Senate Bill 447 would alter the states definition of smoking to include the use of electronic (or digital) cigarettes. In fact, the way the bill is currently written, carrying an e-cigarette in an indoor public space would be prohibited.
SB 447 was scheduled to be heard in the Senate Committee on Public Health, Welfare, and Labor several days ago. However, the committee ran out of time to hear the bill. We have received credible information that the hearing will likely be rescheduled and the bill will heard over the next few days (during the week of 3/16).
Please take action now and send an email to the committee and your state senator urging them to oppose this bill.
