It will perform, but it will be under stress while doing so. The black AW batteries are good, quality, batteries, but they are lithium cobalt batteries with an on-board PCB (protective circuit board). The PCB is there to (hopefully) prevent over-charging or over-discharging, which could contribute to the battery going into thermal runaway. That's not a good thing to have happen in any device close to your face. It will vent gases, heat, and possibly flame. A 1.7Ω load on a 2600mAh AW IRC battery is asking it to work very hard.
AW IMR batteries can also fail, but usually just release heat and gases. A 1.7Ω load on this battery doesn't stress it much at all and is considered to be safer to use in the Reo Grand.
