Can I use TC mode with Clapton 36k/24s wire

I am currently vaping in Watts mode but would like to run in TC mode. The wire I use to build my coils is Clapton 36k/24s. My understanding is that we shouldn't run TC mode with Kanthal wire. Since the Core is 24 AWG SS 316L and the wrap is Kanthal, what are the implications that I should be aware of?

You can't use tc with kanthal wire except for a very few specialized mods. So no you can't use tc mode with those coils.

Thanks for the info. I knew kanthal was Watts only, but wasn't clear about when it's used as a wrap. Easy enough to buy the correct wire.

If the core is SS then yes you can use that in TC mode. With a clapton only the core actually carries current. The wrap being of a higher resistance will not and is heated by conduction and radiation from the core. In terms of TC accuracy and general performance I can't comment as I have not used this configuration.

Thanks for the clarification. I wonder if the 'TC Precision' on SteamEngine would be a decent indicator? I have order some 26 AWG SS 316L as I have wanted to build single wire coil. Always fun to experiment with something new. Just making sure I'm experimenting without be foolish.

Steam engine has a wire wizard section if that's what you mean, I don't use it.
