CONGRATULATIONS!! Kentucky, Nebraska, Georgia, Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, and Hawaii . . . your legislative sessions are over and no bad legislation has passed on your watch.
Alaska fought back a contentious state-wide smoking ban that would have included e-cigs, and Hawaii vapers defeated so many bad bits of legislation that it's hard to keep count.
Kentucky beat back legislation that would have banned e-cigarette use in public places as well as a bill designed to treat e-cigarettes as a tobacco product for purposes of imposing a 15% tax.
Iowa passed a common sense ban on sales to minors, rejecting efforts to tax e-cigarettes or ban their use in public areas.
At present, we now have 24 states out of legislative session for the year, no bad bills. The battle continues for the other 26 states and the District of Columbia, but so far we've had phenomenal success.
