There are a few cartomizers that have almost the same design as the CE2 and are newer..watch out for the stone as I've heard they crack..the V3's might have fixed that though..I think if you got the other Vision cartos you might be happy. Yeah using CE2's takes a little fiddling and it's a learning curve.
I don't have to wipe mine out too much but when ever changing the battery I wipe the connection and before filling I suck up the juice from the top most of the time. Sometimes I'll get one that I have to wipe out on occasion but nothing like you're describing. You also need a bigger battery to burn these off well like an eGo..you can burn with an auto though try blowing into the lighted end of the auto battery to turn it on.
