I been studying the new 6 and up numbers and i don't think they are real.
anyways the ce is basically a revision number like CE2 was out and became popular because it worked well but was disposable the CE3 came out and was rebuildable, the CE4 came out and it was just a slightly redesigned 3 with some different features.
As near as I can tell the 5 is where the real ones are just now getting too, there are only a few companies that are the real designers of what is called a "stardust" clearo.

to give you an idea of how bad the copycating is - there is a company called kanger, they make excellent clearo style tanks. but there is a company called kangler who is now releasing clearos all the way up to a CE9 designation depending on where you look.

If your interested in clearo's stick with known companies. vision, Smok, Kanger, a good thing to do is stay with well known vendors as they will usually tell you "this is not a vision product is it a knockoff" a vendor named gotvapes is particularly good for this as they have a pretty tight integration with their supplier base, not suggesting you just buy there it is also good for common knowledge.

Thanks for the post - I wondered how the 7, 8, &9's just started popping up with no real explanation of the changes...

How about short wick vs. long wicks on the Clearomizers (not the Nova's) or wickless? Any pro's or con's here?

where exactly do the 'official' ce-named products come from?
I ordered what dx calls a ce6, but when I do an online search for the same model, about a dozen different styles of product show up.

I think what I use are CE4s - a.k.a Stardust, Sun Rise, etc. - long wicks, not rebuildable. I get several tankfuls out of them (cleaning in-between), unless I use very strong juice. At about $4 a pop, I don't hassle with rebuilding and just toss them when they die. That said, I've only worn out 2 in 3 months.

I think vendors really need to consolidate the names to avoid confusion to the average user. The confusion just adds to the steep learning curve to get into better ecig mods.

When I started the ce4 was disposable with short wicks, them came the ce4+ that had long wicks. Then came the ce5 with replaceable heads, since I found I liked the vivi nova better I quit the ce's at that point.

I also explained the difference in my second blog post, ha! Just because I HATE HATE HATE the short wick ones

I like the long wicks, for what its worth. And I'll say it a bazillion times.

CE2s are horizontal top coils. CE3s are horizontal bottom coils. That's about as sophisticated as I get.

I've been using the CE5's for about 2 months and I love them aside from the fact that sometimes the replacement coil's just don't work. They are cheap enough that it's not a huge problem, but sometimes it can be. I will use them for awhile, or until something better comes out. whichever comes first lol.
