I just realized that this is Halloween eve, eve
I've dug deep and found what rhymes, I had hidden inside me
I've tested myself and now realize
I've given my best shot at winning a prize
And now I'm just hoping I get to try
Some delicious Copper Creek Pumpkin Pie

I wanted to take a moment to thank Mr. Crabbypants for taking the time read through all this
And lest I forget, Thank you too, Ms. Stretchypants for giving us all the chance to have some fun
I offer up a special Thank you too, to Mrs. Drottwiler for all you do for so many
We couldn't have done it without you Coppercreek
Since you are the genius behind Copper Creek pumpkin Pie

Happy Halloween to one all.

Driving home this very night,
I had a thought that gave me fright.

Tomorrow is All Hallows Eve
It came so fast , hard to believe

I didn't have a lot of time
To sit right down and make a rhyme

I think we all have had some fun
Good luck I say to everyone

And now it's time to say goodbye
I think I'll go and have some PIE

Oh why, oh why, did I ever try
to turn a Pumpkin into PIE??

I was young and foolish,
this much is true.
Just a Senior in High School
without any clue!!

The skin is so thick that
it just can't be peeled
by traditional methods
which was quickly revealed.

It was Mom to the rescue
who said: Let me take a look...
We can cut it up and put it
into my pressure cooker to cook!!

It was done in just minutes
What a great time saver!!
Much easier to work with
and such a wonderful flavor.

Mom saved me some time
by making crust for the PIE
while I consulted the cookbook...
On Betty Crocker you could rely!!

So into the mixer
went spices and milk
some eggs and the pumpkin -
the mixture was like silk.

It ended up being
enough for two PIES
filled up both the PIE crusts
much to my surprise.

Then into the oven
they went for a while..
and when they were done,
they brought quite a smile.

All golden and brown
with a wonderful smell.
these would be some good PIES
we already could tell.

All of my hard work
had paid off in the end.
and home with my boyfriend
the second one I did send.

He awoke in the morning
and what should he spy??
His father had eaten
the WHOLE DARN PIE!!

edit: one for posterity, forgot I was in central time zone, missed the deadline! But thought I'd post it anyway

The Invention of PIE

It was All Hallows Eve at the Creek
Flying V was still doing some tweaks
All the caldrons were filled
With her hands that were skilled
Making all the ejuices we seek.

One vat contained juice of the Year
While hubby was out hunting deer
She just took the liberty
Of using her wizardry
To blaze new paths and frontiers.

A full moon was up in the sky
Spooky midnight was drawing nigh
With a devilish cackle
She decided to tackle
The very best juice you could buy.

"First I will put up the roos"
And put them to bed for a snooze
She walked back to the Hut
With a devilish strut
And decided to mix up some brews.

A jack o lantern shining nearby
Gave Flying V a gleam in her eye
T'was that pumpkin gleaming
Which started her scheming
"I think I will tackle some PIE!

She wanted to please her Posse
And her eyes got tearful and glossy
"I will make this one tops!
I will pull out all the stops!
I will make this one tasty and saucy!"

And so it is really a mystery
On a night that was cold and blistery
The invention of PIE
Beneath that Autumn sky
And the rest, as they say, is just history!
