Since I had opened the unit on one occasion with Brandon through Skype I was able to learn how to reset the Darwin.
The only weak area for me on my device was the USB charging connector, which by now had broken 3 times. The USB connector attached to the PCB had 2 small paper clip diameter connectors to the battery and this is what was breaking over and over. A USB mini connector for the charging attachment is great, but even with the utmost kid gloves this attaching and removing of the charger puts to much stress on these paperclip like connectors to the battery.

Brandon as always said send it back, but as bad as I hated it I got to the point of it "The Darwin" being out of service so I decided I'm just going to use my 6v device and the ego twist for backup.
This problem for me may not be an issue on newer models, or for others. I hate not having it as it is still the best PV out there.
