Since someone said that it's alright to name names, my first experience was with Knight Sticks. Honestly can't categorize it as a nightmare, but had that potential. The contract details stated:
"You will have a full 10 day trial period from the product ship date to try Knight Sticks. If you decide Knight Sticks is not right for you, simply call our Customer Service number to cancel within the 10 day trial period and you will not be charged any additional fees.
When you order the FREE Trial of Knight Sticks your credit card will be charged only $9.95 shipping and handling for a One Month Trial Supply of Knight Sticks (which includes one e-cigarette, two nicotine cartridge refills, one electronic lithium battery and a USB charger). You will have 10 days from the day your order is shipped to try Knight Sticks. At the end of your 10 day trial period you will be charged $99.90 for the e-cigarette package you received. If you find Knight Sticks is not right for you, simply cancel within 10 days of your original shipment date and you will not be charged. 15 days after you have placed the order for Knight Sticks you will be sent a month supply of 15 Knight Sticks refill cartridges and your credit card on file will be billed $49.90 plus $9.95 shipping and handling. Every 30 days after that, you will be sent a monthly supply of nicotine cartridge refills for the low price of $49.90 plus $9.95 shipping and handling."
To be fair the e-cig itself actually wasn't that bad. Good TH, fair amount of vapor, alright tasting. But if Im reading the service agreement correctly and what I got was a One Month Trial Supply of Knight Sticks then theyve grossly exaggerated. What I got lasted 2 days and I was not hitting on it that much.
What they neglect to mention in the contract is that you also have to send the product back if unsatisfied, which I found out after calling to cancel my subscription. In fact, the companys rep mentioned this ONLY as I was just about to hang up the phone after 10 minutes of questions as to why I wanted to cancel: Well, Im cancelling because Ive quit
Oh really? How did you quit?
Cold turkey
Really?
Yes
Really?
I said yes. Please cancel my subscription
Wasnt quitting hard to do?
To clarify, she was not making small talk. She simply did not believe me and was not about to let me cancel easily. Of course I havent really quit but she didnt know that!
So to sum up what was said before, its generally a good idea at least for now to stay away from these free trials and instead visit this forum for truly excellent info.
