Does anybody have the new 2016 nitecore i4?

I just got this charger about 2 weeks ago and it's way faster than my old i4 at least with 2 battery's with 4 it's about the same. I have noticed one concerning issue though it heats up way more than my old i4 I was wondering if anyone else has this charger and has noticed this as well. I know the manual says it's ok for it to heat up the actual batteries aren't hot just the charger other than that I think it's a great charger especially since it has the Imr recovery mode

Just took mine out of the box and I'm about to get three 18650's "cooking", will let ya know how it acts when it's done it's thing.

I got one and the heat produced does not even reach the batteries. The batteries are not hot at all and I have used multiple types of IMR/INRs.

I dumped all my Nitecore chargers for that reason, excessive heat and electronics are not a good mix, have 4 xtars , and 3 efests , all run cool and efficiently

My Nitecore doesn't get hotter than 10 degrees above room temperature. I saw the same in a review I watched while waiting for mine to be delivered and I might question authenticity if I had a heat issue. ?? Maybe?

my first go around with this charger and it gets slightly warm, (as expected) but not to any great degree and the batts stay cool to the touch.
I see no issues with it.

Does the 2016 model do 1A on all bays? My years old I4 only charges at .5A. It's the reason I bought the Efest LUC 4. Even my Xtar VC4 can only do 1A on the two outer bays.

Needless to say, I like charging in half the time at 1A and it doesn't over-stress the batteries according to Mooch.

I have the "new" Nitecore i4. The bottom of the base gets fairly hot when charging 2x 18650 @ 750ma but the batteries stay cool. Only nitpick with this charger is that it terminates @ 4.15 not 4.2

I'm trying to figure out if I've got the old or new i4.

Mine does get a bit warm, not hot though.

On the small yellow strip on the top of the charger it should say "Intellicharger NEW i4"

ok just got home and checked, it is d4, any reason to upgrade to the new on?
