Just about anything you inhale hurts your lungs. That said, inhaling vapor isn't nearly as harmful as inhaling smoke.

Well inhaling anything but our natural atmosphere is not ideal, but it's all about harm reduction. I'd put money on the belief that my ecig is a lot less dangerous for my health than cigarettes, and probably no more harmful to me than all of the pollutants in our air.

You have to remember that the lungs are living organs, and as long as we're not inhaling something like tar, that sticks around and gunks them up, while also damaging the healing components, and we aren't inhale something extremely toxic that acts as an immuno suppressor, that the lungs are actually pretty good at fixing themselves up.

The body has a tendency to tell you when something is wrong. When I was a smoker, I felt awful; I was sick all the time. As a vaper, I feel great! I don't get sick nearly as often. Every little sniffle doesn't turn into a case of serious bronchitis. If I were damaging my body significantly, I'd think it'd let me know.

I've heard claims it can cause pneumonia but never have seen any clinical information backing that up.

I would assume our lungs are capable of handling some water moisture or high humidity would destroy our lungs.

As mentioned above, it still has to be better for your lungs than inhaling combustion smoke and byproducts.

let's look at it this way, anything in some way shape or form is "bad" for us right? If you are not smoking analogs, and you are vaping and you are happy, feel better, can breath better, are saving money, then the effects of vaping which are basically none outside of being REALLY thirsty are worth it! if you have ever had someone tell you sitting in a steam room is "good for you" consider the bacteria that is found in those rooms

At least with vaping you are not inhaling all types of fun bacteria :) Crazy way to look at it, but true.

Enjoy it, you are not smoking analogs, that is the important part right there

I'm not so sure that our "natural" atmosphere is that good for us :)

When you breath on a humid day, you are in fact inhaling water vapor. When you use a Vicks vaporizer when you have a bad cold you are inhaling water vapor. If you spend time in a steam bath, you are inhaling water vapor. And so on...

So, I would say inhaling water vapor does not hurt your lungs.

Don't Buckeyes have 100% humidity days?

I can't believe we keep them inside our borders.

Yeah, of course. You've all surely heard of 'death by steamy shower' right?

Of course, e-cig vapor isn't all water though.

Nope, I don't think water vapor hurts your lungs otherwise half the population would be dead or on oxygen by now. Or at least everyone that's taking hot showers or has ever used a sauna.......... IMO, vaping is a lot healthier that smoking and a lot more enjoyable, too...... :vapor: Happy Vaping, don't let the negative people get to you.... I tune them out. My brother (he's in Germany and seems to believe everything he hears...LOL) wants to tell me that vaping is oh so dangerous. He's a 1-2 PAD smoker... I wonder who's living more dangerous here, him or me?????

I still can't figure how a smoker will criticize somebody for vaping...so far from what I've seen most vapers are open minded and don't hate on smokers...

Its only happened once to me, and his main argument was cost (which I explained wasn't the case) though he did raise health risks. While smoking a cig. In a non-smoking area.

Just seems so counter intuitive to say that vaping is worse for you when I know my lungs have better capacity, I'm not winded by the slightest thing, the wheezing that would come and go is entirely gone. Because of that I'm more active than when I was a smoker. I intend to start running soon too and my only excuse used to be smoking (a joke of an excuse haha).

My appetite is much more consistent too.

I just overall feel better. haha

I'm going to file "Death by Steamy Shower" into my brain. I like that one quite a bit. I like steamy showers quite a bit too...

... it's not water vapor, therefore it's not water vapor that you should be asking about. But I never run a humidifier, those things are just downright deadly!

I think you will be alright. I have been vaping over a year with no issues.

this one always cracks me up, I never had any serious issues from the 10 years I smoked, but that doesn't make it good or even OK either.

I'm fairly new to vaping (about 2 months), and had been smoking 1 to 2 packs a day of analogs for over 40 years....and I can definitely say that since I'm not coughing that phlegmy cough anymore, vaping is not hurting my lungs but rather helping them! :vapor: Did you ask a pulmonary specialist this same question by any chance? I wonder if there are any medical professionals on this forum? This could open up a lot of interesting discussions!

Water vapor doesn't cause pneumonia unless you're lungs are so full of water that fungi grow in them. If that's the case, you've got more serious issues.
