The hottest for me are cartomizers and I put a hole in the center of one of the rubbers and put it on the mouthpiece. The 510 atty can get hot and while this can be an asset, it can get too hot, but the plastic cartridge doesn't conduct the heat like the one piece cartomizer. But if you're getting heat from the 510, in most cases you're hanging on the button too long or power vaping not giving it a break. If the last, you should have another ecig available and switch off.
It's the same with mods - hanging on the button will get hot - period!

You must be using a cartomizer or atty that does not have a plastic tip, here are some suggestions.
1. Do not use it as long, allow to cool down between vaping sessions.
2. If it is a cartomizer or one piece atty, cut a hole in the silicon cover for a cartomizer and leave it on, it buffers the heat.
3. Use a lower voltage mod, or step 1.
4. If it is a cartomizer, cut a 901 cart down and remove the cap and silicon washer and use the 901 modified tip so you lips are not touching the steel part of the atty.
