E-cig companies and their alleged practice of directly marketing to minors and children

I don't know about you, but I'm getting so frustrated and angry hearing on the news about how narrow-minded politicians and ignorant people think that e-cig companies market their products directly to minors and children. We all now how ridiculous this is. Aren't adults entitled to enjoy candy and desserts just as much as kids?

A recent article in Forbes written by Jacob Sullum (......... Edibles, Flavored E-Cigarettes, And the Folly of Child-Proofing the World) addresses the concerns of harshly regulating such adult products as ......... edibles and flavored e-liquid for “the protection of our children.” In reference to potentially banning e-liquid flavors, this article does a good job of presenting a few key points:

A.) The vast majority of e-cig users are adults, many of whom use e-cigs as an alternative to deadly tobacco cigarettes.

B.) E-cig retailers and e-liquid manufacturers absolutely DO NOT market their products to minors or children. There is no proof of any e-cig company ever doing this. Just because we’re adults doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy flavors other than menthol.

C.) Excessive regulation designed to “protect our children” may not protect them at all, but it definitely eliminates certain freedoms of adults. Businesses in the e-cig industry cannot possibly be held liable for irresponsible parents or curious kids, especially when they take well-calculated measures of child proof packaging, label warnings, and approved distribution channels.

The fact remains that many vapers would turn back to tobacco cigarettes if the only e-liquid flavor options available were tobacco and menthol. This is more than an issue of our freedom being potentially taken away, this is an issue of our right to live a healthy lifestyle.

I can't wait for all this nonsense to subside.

The closing paragraph of this article is just spectacular:

"In other words, Constantinides and his allies are prepared to sacrifice the interests, and potentially the lives, of verifiably real adults for the sake of hypothetical teenagers. This is where the logic of regulating “for the children” leads. Attempts to child-proof the world do not necessarily make kids any safer, but they always makes adults less free."
