I really like this type of Battery Door, Hatch, Access Cover.

It reminds me of a Minolta SLR I used to have.

I really hate this one because it is really hard to sit it squarely and not cross thread it. It makes changing batteries a real pain.

The Defender 50W (aka Defender II) came out mid July - see Oregon Linda's post #93 above, and alex above hers.

I considered it and decided upon another subox/Kbox mini at the time. I had one, and they had just the batt for sale but back ordered - never came in. I ended up with a VTC mini (and a subox nano later) but still prefer the Kbox mini.

Oops! My bad! Guess I should've read the whole thread. But at least my heart was in the right place, if not my head. LOL

The Trick is to Slowly turn the Cover Counter-Clockwise until you hear the Click. Then you are Good to Go.

But Yes, there are Many who do not like this type of Cover.

Don't have one but had similar and a few cameras like Zoidman said - it is a 'reminder' but I prefer the magnetic doors of the Kbox mini/nano. And while the VTC mini also has them - they are super strong vs. the Kbox. None come off but I have a little metal mesh 'holder' from OfficeMax that I put my mods into and the vtc mini sticks to the mesh. lol.

I've got the 75W IPV D2 with temperature control. I don't end up using the TC feature much, though it apparently works well - at least if you build your own nickel coils. Factory built ni200 coils still seem to have a ways to go until they are reliably designed and built. I like the D2 quite a bit, and now use it regularly to power Mini Nautilus clearomizer tanks with the newer V2 OCC heads. They don't need as much power to get a good vape on, so the single 18650 battery powered IPV D2 can last me all day without recharging or switching out the batteries. Though it is a real nice (tough, user friendly and reliable) little box mod, for my purposes, I would like a smaller single 18650 powered APV because I find the D2 a little large and heavy for shirt breast pocket carry - at least compared to something like the Defender or iStick 30W. Any suggestions?

The subox mini - kbox mini without the subtank and battery is 110 grams. The D2 without batt is @132 grams. (one site FT - says 180g? with batt?)While the D2 appears rounded at the top, it is actually more like the istick 30 where there is one flat side, one rounded. The Kbox mini, is rounded on both sides - likely taking off some of the weight, just like the Defender. The Defender is 123 grams with internal batt. 18650 batts run about 45 grams.

The somewhat recently appearing Cloupor Mini Plus is smaller than the KBOX Nano, KBOX Mini, iPV D2 and Defender 50W.

FT lists its weight as 160 grams (presumably with battery).

Just noticed how old this thread is. Not
Sure what my next mod will be but hopefully what i have will last me until the tpd is in place in Europe and we'll see what's left on the shelves. I think it'll be in force by may . There be dark clouds ahead.
Happy vaping

Yikes! You might want to get something before they take all your choices away.

There's a limit to 'smallness' with me - the istick20/30 for example. And I prefer the Kbox mini over the Kbox nano - but they are close. Wouldn't want to go smaller than that at this point. I suppose if there were a regulated 'side by side' with the same specs as the Kbox mini, I might consider one :- )

BTW, there are spring loaded Kbox minis now available at gearbest and 3Fvape? But gearbest answers the direct question....

http://www.gearbest.com/vv-vw-mods/pp_193603.html

Question: This is upgraded version with new spring loaded 510 pin? Or its old version with a fixed 510 pin?

Reply:
Hi,Artur!
This item is the latest version with new spring loaded 510 pin.
Thanks for your inquiry.

I'll post this on itty bitty....

I like that blue one... Thanks, Gerrymi. :)

What's the difference between the mini and mini+? Do you know off hand? Just TC?

Hi @Katya ...

Haven't been to this thread for awhile...got involved in the eVic-VTC Mini thread...got the VTC (for $28.89 how could I not?)...(and love it)...

http://www.efun.top/joyetech-evic-vtc-mini-express-kit.html

Anyway...

Cloupor Mini...30W, no TC, no step-down

Cloupor Mini Plus...50W, TC, buck/step-down

Cloupor Mini...22mm x 36mm x 77.5mm

Cloupor Mini Plus...22mm x 37mm x 78.5mm

Do plan on getting a Cloupor Mini Plus...(again, for $28.99 how can I not?)...but am waiting for Efun to add more colors...
