Just a question for you and everyone else - I don't mean to judge and everyone has a right to do as they please, regardless of what anyone else thinks about it.
Are you not at all concerned about the dangers of AP? Just taking a step back from flavors we all love and doing a reality check, AP has been shown to cause irreversible lung damage. The walls of the airways in the lungs thicken and harden. The only cure is a lung transplant. That scares the s*** out of me. I have asthma, and when I first went to a specialist, I was having trouble walking up the stairs. Not physically, but when I got to the top of the stairs, I was dizzy and occasionally starting to black out. I'd have to lay down to catch my breath. When it got that bad, I knew it was time to get help. Probably should have gone sooner, but I try to avoid doctors.
When they tested my lung function, I was at 30% capacity. They put me on a strong steroid inhaler - 2 puffs in the morning, and 2 more at night. The problem with that is it's very addictive. It also doesn't last as long the more I used it. At first, it would last 17 hours, then hour by hour, less time before I needed the next puff. Walking to the bus after work, I couldn't wait to get home to get the next puff. I'd ween myself off of it every few weeks so I'd get back to 17 hours, and repeat. Using the steroid inhaler, my lung function was 95%.
Then, I started vaping. I noticed I didn't have the need to use the inhaler anymore. I did my research and found that PG is a bronchiodilator, just like the steroid inhaler (though not nearly as strong). I decided to do a test - I stopped using the inhaler and only vaped. My next breathing test showed I was at 70% lung capacity. The doctor thought something was wrong, until I told her what I was doing. I rarely use my inhalers anymore.
The point is, I KNOW what it's like to have constricted airways. The difference with BO caused by AP is a bronchiodilator doesn't work. By the time you start realizing you have a problem, it's too late.
Just curious if any of you are as concerned as I am about diketones.
