I ran across this and was wondering if anyone could make some sense out of it.
I did a search on inhalers, as I am concerned about PG and VG..
"Abstract:
The invention relates to pressurized metered dose inhalers (MDIs) in which all or part of the internal surface is lined with an inert organic coating and which contain a formulation which comprises TA 2005.
Claims:
1. A pressurized metered dose inhaler, comprising a container equipped with a metering valve and containing a pressurized solution aerosol formulation comprising:TA 2005;a hydrofluorocarbon propellant; andat least one cosolvent, wherein said container has an internal surface and all or part of said internal surface is lined with an inert organic coating.
2. The pressurized metered dose inhaler of claim 1, wherein said at least one cosolvent comprises an alcohol.
3. The pressurized metered dose inhaler of claim 1, wherein said at least one cosolvent comprises ethanol.
4. The pressurized metered dose inhaler of claim 1, wherein said hydrofluorocarbon propellant comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of HFA 227, HFA 134a, and mixtures thereof.
5. The pressurized metered dose inhaler of claim 1, wherein said solution aerosol formulation further comprises:at least one low-volatility component.
6. The pressurized metered dose inhaler of claim 5, wherein said at least one low-volatility component comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of
propylene glycol, glycerol, polyethylene glycol, isopropyl myristate, and mixtures thereof.
7. The pressurized metered dose inhaler of claim 5, which comprises 0.2 to 2% by weight of said at least one low-volatility component.
