The powers that be are planning to restrict us from making healthier choices again with the "Healthier Choices" legislation. Strengthening Ontario's Smoking and Vaping Laws: Proposed changes to regulations made under the Smoke-Free Ontario Act and Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2015
There is a link for "comments" as this is still open for discussion until April I believe.
If you disagree with the legislation please comment.
The following is my comment(paraphrased)....
Lets break down what is being addressed by this "Healthier Choices" Act
1. Cigarette smoking.
2. Marijuana smoking.
3 Vapourizing e-liquid with or without nicotine.
4. Vapourizing marijuana.
Of the choices above which two are "healthier choices"?
Obviously 3 and 4 are healthier choices than the first two.
Then why are we treating them all as though they are the same?
Further restrictions on the more healthy options will only serve
to keep people using the less healthy options.
I do not believe this to be the intent of this Legislation,
but it will be the effect of it.
Also, to ask people with medical issues or folks trying to quit smoking
to go to a "smoking area" to vape is counterproductive and will only
add to their health issues. Definitely not a "healthier choice" for them.
Please carefully consider before resrtricting vaping to the degree that is being suggested in this Bill. Thank-you.
