No need to Toss it. Just Dilute it down to 3mg/ml using VG.

When you do Math like in a Mixing problem, I tell people to Try and Get a rough answer in your head Before you enter numbers into a Calculator. That way if you Fat Finger some entry into a Calculator, and you get some Result which doesn't Jive with the Number you got in your Head, you know something is Wrong.

If I'm at 36mg/ml and want to get to 3mg/ml, it sound like I need to add about 12 Parts of VG (in this case) to Dilute it. Because 3 goes into 36 12 times.

So the Number in my Head is 12 Parts VG and 1 Part 36mg/ml Nicotine base.

---

Now I Do The Math for some Amount of Finished 3mg/ml e-liquid. Lets do a 30ml Batch

30ml of 3mg/ml has 90mg of Total Nicotine. 30ml x 3mg/ml = 90mg/30ml

Ok... So now I divided the Total Nicotine I'm looking for by 36 ( the mg per ml that I have)

90mg / 36mg/ml = 2.5 ml

So If I put 2.5ml of 36mg/ml Nicotine Base into a Bottle, and then add 27.5ml of VG (30ml - 2.5ml) I should be where I want to be.

---
Lets Check it.

2.5ml of Nicotine Base + 27.5ml of VG = 30ml of Finished e-Liquid. Check.

30ml of 3mg/ml e-Liquid has 90mg of Total Nicotine. 30ml x 3mg/ml = 90mg Check

2.5ml (Amount of Nicotine Base to put in Bottle) x 36mg/ml (amount of Nicotine in 1 ml) = 90mg Total Nicotine. Check

So it sound like it all works out.

If I combine 2.5ml of 36mg/ml Nicotine Base with 27.5ml of VG and I get 30ml of e-Liquid at 3mg/ml.

It's Miller Time! (Not quite Yet)

---
Ok... But here is the Deal. I don't want to have to Do all these steps Every Time I mist this e-Liquid. So here is How I make the Math work For Me and Not Against me.

If I take the amount of 36mg/ml Nicotine Base I used above, 2.5ml, and Divide it by the Size of the Batch I did above, 30ml, and I get...

2.5 / 30 = .0833

Now I multiply .0833 by 100 to turn it into a Percentage.

.0833 x 100 = 8.33%

This is the Percentage of 36mg/ml Nicotine Base needed to make ANY amount of 3mg/ml e-Liquid. It is Really the Entire Reason I did all of this Work. Because I now put a piece of Tape on my 36mg/ml Nicotine Base Bottle and write .0833 on it.

So when I want to make say 20ml of 3mg/ml e-Liquid, I just Multiply 20 by .0833 and that is how much Nicotine Base I use.

20 x .0833 = 1.67ml of 36mg/ml Nicotine Base.
20 - 1.67 = 18.33ml is what I add to Dilute it.

8.33% is the Magic Number! Because it Works for Any amount I want to make.

---
Last Check....

3/36 = .0833 => 8.33%

So... 3mg/ml is 8.33% of 36mg/ml. And that Jives with the Number that I had in my Head when I first Started this mess.

---
I know by Now Most People's eyes are Glazed over. And I know this looks like the Ramblings of a Retired College Math Instructor. But I think it is Good to be able to do this kind of Mixing problem on Paper. And I believe that Everyone should Understand where Numbers in an Online Calculators come from.

It's good for Them to Know. It is Also very good when someone like a Son or Daughter comes and asks Questions about a Similar type of Math Problem.

36mg max vg
final nic 3mg 85/15 vg pg
max vg
flavor 1 pg 10%
flavor 2 pg 5%
so i landed on
1.25 ml of the 36mg max vg
11.5 ml of the vg
flavor 1 was 2.25ml
flavor 2 was .75 ml

Was you Target Batch Size 15ml?

Because the Total ml add up to 15.75ml

BTW - Someone should Really Check my Math.

To Make sure I didn't Kack on a Number in that Post.

I think your math is off a little. 3 goes into 36 12 times... but you have to count the 1 part of nic (36mg) as one of those parts, plus 11 other parts of (zero nic). 11 times 3 = 33 + 1 times 3 (which is 36 - 33).

yeah i was looking at that on the flavor lol i can always mix a new batch i honestly cant believe how cheap everything was from ecigexpress to the point i can trial and error and not throw a S*** fit about how much i spent
and if its correct i can use the same % of vg and the nic as i dont plan on changing anything other than flavoring?
85 /15 vg pg is the sweet spot for me

yes 15 ml the picture i attached was what i got using the ecigexpress cal i also got the same results using the e juice me up app that another member suggested

Yeah... Looks like there was a Typo in Flavoring-1 in Post #6.

Just curious... What are the Flavors you are going to use?

Absolutely. 12 Parts would be the Total Parts. And one of those parts is going to be Used by the Nicotine Base.

The Concept of getting a Number in your Head isn't to Find an Exact Solution. It is to get a Rough Number that you can reference to when you Calculate a Solution or have a Calculator provide a Solution for you.

The Biggest Mistake I have seen (and it Dwarfs ALL Mistakes by Miles) when people do Math Problems is they Generate Answers via Calculators but have Nothing to Gauge Correctness to.

When Bad Data goes into the Calculator, a Bad Result comes out. Without some number in my Head to say... "Does this Sound Right?", I have to Blindly Trust the Calculators Results.

Getting a Rough Number in your Head will let you Catch Most of the Errors that you will make when Using a Calculator. Like putting a 9 in instead of a 6. Or typing 3.6 when you meant to type 36.

going for a green jolly rancher flavor
i was taking to someone and they said 10% green apple and 5% of hard candy from flavor west
i can always adjust my biggest concern was if i was inputting to correct info into the calculators

That sound like a Tasty Mix.

You might want to Consider adding some Sweetener to it. If you are looking for a Sweet Candy type taste that is.

Using FW flavoring 15% is the average number they suggest for strength.

BTW - The "Number in Head" thing is how I caught the Error in the Recipe that was listed in Post #6.

I did a Quick n' Dirty total of the ml's and I came up with about 15ml. It seemed a little Off but I went with 15ml because it is such a Nice Round Number. And something that Many People use.

So then I said, if the Total Flavoring is 15%, how much Flavoring should there be?

10% of 15ml is 1.5ml. And Half of that(5%) is .75ml

So 1.5 + .75 = 2.25ml. And that Isn't what I saw in the Recipe.

Something Isn't Right.

So I did the 8.33% of Nicotine on the 15ml. And that was Off Also. What the Heck is Going on here?

So I dug out my Calculator and added up the ml's and that is when I saw that the Total ml was 15.75ml. Humm... Sounds like Something is Funky.
