I find this thing a real ..... to build. Once you get one coil on, the second coil is nearly impossible to get on and leads clipped. If anyone has suggestions I would really appreciate it. I am using clapton wire, 24/32.
first coil in set and clipped.....I lift first coil as high as possible so legs from second will slide under first coil set tighten clip then reset first coil......I ohave actually given mine away at this point ...I found it to be a crappy atty all around I really liked the first 3 versions but the 4 is a dog
precision, flush wire cutters. Something that will fit under the coil without messing it up to much. Bending the coil up helps. Worst case.. install coil1, clip leads, remove coil 1, install coil2, clip leads, reinstall coil 1. Problem solved. But, with the precision flush wire cutters, I've never had a problem.
you can also, actually, build your coils at an angle and move them to the center... like,
[1 1 ][ 2 2] and then center them after mounted. It helps to prebend your legs a bit if you do it this way.
