That's a tough one since the very nature of menthol is to actually lower the temperature in your mouth. Something to do with blood flow if I remember right. Try adding vodka to your juice maybe? Check out the DIY juice sub forum, I'm sure you're not the first person to run into this issue. Adjusting your power and airflow will effect the actual temp of your vapor too.

i'm starting to notice that smaller tanks seem to make it warmer, but then i have to top off constantly, at about half full they taste like plastic.

it's like the smaller the tank the more i like the hit.

I'd recommend maybe trying cinnamon favors, I have found they give a very similar throat hit but are "warm." Of course my favorite juice is a menthol/cinnamon.

Perhaps try a top coil device such as a Vivi Nova. Less distance for the vapor to travel = warmer vape.

..... When I vape menthol on my 0.6 ohm trident... its incredibly icy....

I don't think its possible to get a warm menthol vape.

    Get a top coil tank...try to run at 6-7 watts, on a spinner a 1.8Ω - 2.0Ω coil

Vivi Nova Mini or a CE4S is what I usually run

I get a pretty good menthol warmness from Vaping Xtreme "Great Orange Vape"

right now i'm doing side by side comparisons... vaped outta t3s for an hour. can't stand the coldness... just switched to evod, significantly warmer.

I had been using a halo mini tank on a triton battery and it was perfect so now i'm thinking do i need to get t4's. they seem to be the same thing.

was really hoping to get a bigger tank to use.

i bought 5 different new ones'

    kanger t3s
    kanger t2
    evod
    iclear 16
    vision3

    slow experimenting going on here.

A warm menthol? That's a new one for me.
In all seriousness - I love MBV red hot with a few drops of halo sub zero in it.

Since you brought it up, let's look at the other end of things. What menthols have you tried so far? There are some really boring menthols out there and some... not so boring. And I agree - mint or wintergreen anything masquerading as a menthol is just... wrong.

I used to love my Newports too. I switched to Marlboro when Newports started costing $20 more per carton than Marlboro.

If you DIY you can make a menthol vape slightly hotter by adding a drop or two of cinnamon.

You don't like the tobacco in 'em? I was gonna suggest Port Menthol from The Vapor Room, since you was a Newport smoker and all. It's a strong menthol, but it has this really nice tobacco flavor in the background.

I often vape Slims Menthol from Myfreedomsmokes.com in an evod or carto or CE5 it is a fairly warm vape on my twists at 3.8 V or so (I use 1.8-2 ohm coils).

Ends up being very like the marlboro menthols I used to smoke.

so far the tobacco flavoring i've tried has been from juice mafia... and well
    i can't say i'm fond of it.
but it very well may be them and not tobacco flavor

On a side note I make menthol juice by dissolving the crystals in PG , then mix with vg and nic .

Warmest vape I have had is with Ithaka , dual coil in that small chimney does the trick .

I use menthol in all of my DIY and the only suggestion I can think of is to use something with a stronger tobacco flavor. Most tobaccos have a "peppery" taste that offsets the menthol. If you like mister e liquid, try grey matter with menthol added. It's not too rich in tobacco flavor, but the vanilla note helps with a warmer feeling.

And careful with cinnamon flavors in your plastic tanks, should you decide to go that route.
