... And for those who love to bash Calif., we haven't passed anything yet while other states, even red ones, have. We need to elect people who have a freaking clue no matter which of the isle they sit on.

This is the True Irony when this "R" vs. "D" comes up.

What California is doing is a Time Honored technique when it comes to implementing a Tax on a Small Segment Market.

Isolate the Market from the Mainstream.
Demonize it in the Eyes of the Majority.
Tax it.

And what I think is Funny is I Don't See many California Republicans House/Senate Members rushing forth to Defend the vaping Community against such Taxes. At Best, they are doing/saying Nothing. Which allows them to Ride the Fence no matter how all this goes down.

Well said and so true.

I doubt there are enough Republicans here to even make a dent. Those that I've contacted have routinely voted in favor of vaping.

Please Post these Republican House/Senators name who have Voted in Flavor of some Vaping related Legislation. As well as any Democrats.

I would like to send them a Thank You letter. As well as a possible Small Campaign Contribution.

Really? You need me to tell you whom to write to save your right to vape in So-Cal? OK, then start with Duncan Hunter, followed by Ed Royce. I wish there were more Republicans to list, but you know, this is California...

Or support contraception *at all* -- most of the R's seem to think that the only use for women is barefoot and pregnant, cookin' in the kitchen. Idiots.

Andria
Well, at least those women would have a greater positive net benefit than the ANTZ. And Carly, take off your shoes and get back in the kitchen!

The volley continues throughout the ages, yet some are still convinced the wings do not belong to the same vulture.
The only way we will ever regain our sanity, our freedoms, is to strip every bias back to the beginning. Study the constitution, the articles, the original bill of rights. Dismiss from your mind the lawyer doublespeak that keeps people off center.
One of the easiest ways to volley back, is to alienate people. Sound bytes. Separating people into manageable groups. Transported by war horses, yet Arriving at the same destination. Smooth.
The only laws that are allowed to pass, are laws that are in step with the constitution. Not with the party of choice. Any law that is not in keeping with the constitution is to be considered repugnant to the constitution & to be null & void.
There are 3 levels of voting. The electoral, the grand jury and the jury trial. It is every citizens responsibility to know what is repugnant to each case on trial.
We cannot blame others for what we ourselves have repetively allowed.
The politicians laugh on their way to the bank, while we sit on our hands wrapped in stupid.
If you want your power back, it's up to you to demand and take it back. Your employees don't own the store, you do.
Power is an addictive drug. It will not be given back to you. You have to grasp it back.

Consider this.
All men were created equal. Yes, this includes women, races, skills.
The right to self preservation is an inherit right, a right we were born with, no man can take away or infringe upon.
The people created the constitution, then delegated certain duties to a small group of people called government, to take care of foreign matters.
The people are still the boss.
The USA is a constitutional republic that uses the democratic ballot to vote on constitutional issues only. If a measure, Bill, law, is not in keeping with the constitution, it is repugnant to the constitution and to be considered null & void.
The House of Representatives hold the power of the purse. They can defund all over reach. It is not up to the senate. The senate can indeed join in, if they wish, but it is not mandatory.
Checks and balances.

Instead of fighting for tax write offs, how about nullifying the non-ratified IRS.
Instead of fighting for socialism, how about fighting for the fruits of your own labor. This frees up your charitable pocket, to go where you see fit.
Instead of fighting, we should be uniting as we the people of the US.

If I were a GOP, volleying back, I would alienate others from God. Why? Because people tithe to churches, send missionary's, fund hospital wings, feed the poor, shelter the homeless. Without as many tithing, this becomes impossible. When over reach imprisons people, the people cannot help, and therefore absolutely have to accept help from outside. Federal grants always come with hidden policies.
If I were a Democratic, volleying back, I would alienate those who work hard for a living who help others as they can afford to. I would tax them so hard they can't reach out to help others.
See the spinning wheel in action.

BTW, God is freedom of choice all the way baby.

Only way to stop the mis information is to bombard the media with positive findings and positive experiences.
ANother way is to get a well known celebrity to start campaigning "for" vaping by giving an interview on how it saved thier life, made it safer for the environment and how it "saves the children"

Oh, and to find people with influence and money to fund unbiased research and bombard the media with that instead of "myths" and lies.

I started a silly "positive" post on here. Its silly but with all the " negative posts" posted by vapors I felt the need to get the "GOOD" to outweigh the "BAD and the UGLY" seemingly intentional posts here and on other forums. ITs hard to tell who is really pro-vaping these days....

Good point avf. If more vapers could be persuaded into the habit of posting their success story everywhere…that would be spectacular. It has been very effective. But I see how peeps get disheartened going through all the effort seemingly alone. Then the powers that be drop a dime and there's a fronpage NYT or MSNBC conclusive study on the dangers of vaping. There are just not enough of us yet. Not to counter those kinds of effects. The FDA will help us though if they crush retail vaping. All vapers become entrepreneurs for our fellow vapers and the interest gets personal. Then more will get serious when it affects them. We'll be happy to have 'em.

Fastest way to get this to a head is for government to realize they haven't increased their control or revenue.

Good luck all. :)

Either kill all the liberals, or put duct tape over all their mouths and keyboards and smart phones. But you'll need a lot of duct tape -- or ammo. :D

Andria

I find that highly offensive.
And it got "likes"?

Calif is a battleground because it has one of the lowest smoking rates. That is all.

I am really sick of all this "liberal" bs. That's the reason vapers are in this spot and a reason this section of ECF isn't visited more.

Are you a member of Not Blowing Smoke? They are based in Calif and doing very constructive and effective work without alienating or hating anyone. You might be amazed.

I'm a liberal Californian. I usually vote democrat because I'm pro-choice, for gay marriage, for gender equality, reproductive rights, and generally against religion in the public domain.

Making this a liberal vs. conservative fight is not the way to go, especially in California. Making people see that negating the right to choose a better alternative to smoking is akin to negating their right to choose in other aspects of their life will play much better here.

It saddens me that Democrats seem to be leading the charge against vaping in California, that doesn't mean I will relinquish my entire political ideology though.

Support CASAA, #notblowingsmoke, and anyone else trying to get the truth out there. The only way to fight misinformation is with the facts. It may take time, but at least it's a
in your sadness you should know libertarian fits the sliver of ideaology you showed here and they also dont want to tax private well water and were not the party that created the original voter supression .....

The California smoking rates will be rising again here shortly. Calif is recently forcing Native American smoke sales back to the reservation only. The Native American smokes cost $20.00+ per carton compared to $60.00+ per carton others. Calif & Feds both are hankering to raise the taxes on them again, plus tax vaping.
Until people put their loyalty to their "party" on hold and learn the constitution, nothing will change. It's been a back & forth game for so long it's all they can do to keep from laughing out loud as they interrogate the "bad guys or girls" who got caught. Lois, Clinton, EPA, FDA, all of them (unconstitutional agencies) have been under scrutiny, all of them getting off the hook. If I hear Gowdy say "are you telling us that you are screwing the American people" one more time, I'll scream. They're not holding anyone responsible, they're parading their crooked achievements against the dumbed down masses.
Breaking free of the indoctrination, the dog & pony shows, the party system & voting for the values that hold true to the constitution is our only hope. Jury duty is our final say. You have to know the constitution, know a bad law when you see it, & correct it.
They won their smoking & now vaping bans in court, because they fiddled with the numbers to make it sound dangerous to others. The constitution says everyone, every gender, every race, every citizen is free to pursuit Liberty, happiness, prosperity, unless you hurt another. The ban-aholics jumped on this, & raised taxed, created segregation, created hate campaigns, raised taxes more, evicted people from their homes, shut down businesses, stole their kids, and more. Even some of the hospitals are now refusing to treat you if you smoke, & the list will grow. (in fact, they consider all chronic diseases as phooey on you, too bad. You should have quit eating birthday cake you sorry excuse of a diabetic patient!, you're costing us money!)
But the truth is, it's harmful to others when numbers are fidgeted, businesses are forced to close, people are evicted into the harsh weather, citizens taxed so high they can't possibly eat nutriously, etc. It's harmful to others to destroy their businesses, economy, residential protection, ... yet the people are so dumbed down they just go along with it because that wisp of smoke or vapor have a "potential" to harm anyone who is surrounded by it 24/7 for a trillion years.
We are too dumbed down to know businesses, residentials, shelters, even car ports, can have Heppa filters installed to capture the particles that could potentially hurt another person in a galaxy far far away in another time.
