First machine shop I worked in had a typewriter for punching out G-code programs on an actual "tape" that was run through the machine for the program. That was in '87. Years later I had a newbie ask me "Why do they call it a tape prove?" That took some explaining.
We used those taps to program test equipment when I was in the service, we use to put the dots in tubes and leave them on the bench so when someone opened them, the dots would spill all over the place.A Flexo Writer.
I remember when CNC Bubble Memory was rated in "Feet".
BTW - Did you ever take the "Dots" out of the Tape Punch Tray and then replace the Bird Shot in a Shotgun Shell with them?
