Tested at 10A-30A constant current. This cell was purchased by a friend from IMRBatteries and donated for testing. To prevent any confusion with the eGo-type "batteries", I use the term "cell" here to refer to a single 18650, 26650, etc.

    Disclaimer
The conclusions and recommendations I make based on these tests are only my personal opinion. Carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never, ever, be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved and how to minimize them. My safety precautions are the ones I have selected to take and you should not assume they will protect you if you attempt to do any testing. Do the research and create your own testing methods and safety precautions.

    Bottom Line
In my opinion, this is a decent 20A continuous discharge current (CDR) cell. Its performance and appearance matches the LG HD2.

    • At 10A it almost reached its rating of 2000mAh. This is good performance.
    • At 20A the maximum temperature reached 75°C. This is low and is the same as the LG HD2 and Samsung 25R.
    • At 25A the temperature rose to 86°C, matching he HD2. That's too high for good cycle life.
    • Five additional cycles at 20A showed almost no drop in voltage or loss in capacity.
    • A discharge at 30A brought the cell temperature to 95°C, matching the HD2, and dropped the voltage considerably. That's too hot and will significantly speed up the damage done to the cell. This is a 20A cell.
    • I am setting a CDR of 20A for this cell. While operating any cell near its rated maximum current causes damage to the cell.
