I am getting burnt flavor at anything close to 3.8v. Any suggestions?

Wait patiently for the Raven. Mine is hitting dry too. That's two tonight. this one and the E9. On the opposite end is the eGo SCT. That one just keeps flooding on me. Had enough. Calling it quits for today. I'll be counting Raven's in my sleep. Hope they got outta China today.

Happy tinkering. I'll be looking for your results next week.
I tried some cotton square braid wicking in a mini vivi nova tonight. Not too thrilled. I think the braiding on this wick is too tight. Maybe I should try unraveling the loose ends. Scratch that...just tried it. Will not unravel like most silica wick. I have some other wick coming tomorrow or Monday so I'll see what that does. What do you do with the cotton balls? Twist them into a rope style?

I've done cheesecloth strands wrapped on a needle with the wick that were "OK". I finally (on about my 3rd) pulled them out, and pulled/twisted a thin clump of cotton off of a cotton ball to put in there. I twisted it up a little more and threaded it through the coil. Honestly, I feel like I got lucky with the proportions of the wick.

It does seem though that you have to make the wick a little on the small side. It expands into the cavity of the coil after threaded through. I'm pretty sure my earlier wicks were just too tight it didn't feed quite right.

Also try to get through 3-5ml before really criticizing a new cotton wick.

Thanks to GotVapes, I now have 3 styles of rebuildables headed my way for enjoyment & testing. Some things will be posted to the Alpha thread (specifically re the CE9), but I'll point you to those from here when they arrive.

Fortunately, I recently got a webcam working too, so maybe even my first video?

ETA: oh yeah, I remember why I italicised strands: because Quigsworth shared his folding technique for cheesecloth (CC) and I had yet to try that. Basically, fold the outsides into the middle before rolling up to avoid the "loose ends" you'll otherwise get with a low thread count CC.

I just received mine. The green is nice looking. I had a hard time getting the top off, had to use a tacky jar top remover cloth. Filled with GV 17mg Hawaiian kerpow (great juice) at 3.7v. Dry hits, not good. I left the wick length the same and kept the loose wick on. I cut about a 1/4" off the silicone cap so it will wick better. Now it works great, no dry hits at all. I let it sit overnight no leaking. Only problem I am having is while I'm vapping I get a little leaking around the bottom screw joint, not sure why that is. But I like this unit so far, its a keeper.

Wow.... Dry Hit after Dry Hit... Disgusting. It sure does look and feel great. Now if it only performed HALF as good as it looks. I removed the loose wick to no avail. I will try cutting the silica seal back a bit. Was a afraid to do this as I have done in the past with other clearos and they leaked like hell. I have my Bully on order. I sure hope that it is good. I am tired of wasting money :( lol

Maybe there is a consistency issue with these. I just finished my first full tank. No modding, just filled and let it sit for 20 minutes, then went to town. No dry hits at all, just steady, quality vape from beginning to end. And the cherry on top? This thing is gorgeous. Solid build, simple, sleek lines. I really like it. The only downside is a small amount of seepage at the seam where the base threads onto the body. I guess the o-ring in there may be a little small, or I pinched it when I put it back together. My experience is a good one, and I feel confident these will work very well. They may require a little adjusting, but I still love my fluxos, too.

As far as wasting money, I'll gladly waste a few dollars on vaping supplies I don't like instead of the analog alternative ;)

Agreed, there must be a consistency thing happening here. I have a very pretty, albeit useless tank on my hands unfortunately. I want to agree about the wasting money thing, only bc u are a fellow bass player... But wasted money is just that; wasted money. :( I do agree that this last year being off analogs has been great. However I am beyond the comparison as I will never go there again. But I do also recall being just as bummed when I would waste 5 or 6 bucks on a pack that I did not like as well.

Counting down the days till my first rebuildable arrives!!

I ordered two of the ReLOaD tanks and 5 replacement stem coils.

GotVapes E1 ReLOaD™ - Replacement Stem Coil 2.4ohm [gv-E1-ReLOaD-StemCoil-2.4] - $1.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

The replacements all have very short wicks, not long as in the product picture. Are the long wicked replacements available, or are there only short wicks? I vape higher VG, and find that the shorter wicks don't work as well for me. The tank with the longer wick is working great on my eGo twist, I'm just not sure how the short wicks will compare.

I've had this item in use for two days. After putting just two tanks-worth of juice through it, I have to say that if you'd blindfolded me and had me use it, I'd probably call it a Stardust. Performance seems a tad better than my older-revision Stardust. With a full tank (a little headroom below the wick inlets) it gurgles on me, but just a little - much less than the Stardust when full. It definitely needs lots of tipping once it get's somewhere below half a tank - at least for the juice I use. I did get a couple dry hits, but nothing that a quick tipping of it would have prevented.

Flavor & vapor are pretty good. Looks nice too and I love the drip tip. I'm glad there are the notches in the skirt at the bottom; It was a little tough to screw apart on the first attempt, and without those notches for grip it may have even required pliers to hold well enough.

Solid product IMO, but not likely to become my favorite I don't think. If you like Stardusts, I think you'll love this - the tank seems like it'll be much more durable. I'll share my rewicking (rather than reloading) experience when I finally get to it (hoping tonight).

I agree. I would like to see those notches at the top as well. It could be a little easier to take the top off for filling

GotVapes E1 ReLOaD™ - Replacement Stem Coil 2.4ohm [gv-E1-ReLOaD-StemCoil-2.4] - $1.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

I figured out why the replacements have short wicks. They don't fit, the connection is completely different, so I submitted a ticket so I can get the correct ones.

I got one of these & I LOVE it so far ...
I filled it up & took to the casino last night, used it exclusively for 8+ hours (still using it).
worked great ...& my 650 batt lasted a lot longer than it usually does ??? Not sure why that would be but it did .

The only issue I have/had with it is that it seems to be leaking or seeping as bassmonster put it ...not whole drops ...it just looks like condensation (tiny misty lookin') around the bottom part , right where the two lower bands meet . Not a deal breaker & I think it may right itself after taken apart & reassembled ...IDK ?

DUH, Just needed to tighten it down !
I should have done that b-4 filling but was in a hurry

So after the 1st 24 hrs ...

  • ...LOOK'S GREAT! :D
    ...Sleek on a SS Ego
...Teal/turquoise color is very pretty & shiny!!
    ...Nice build & weight
    ...Easy to fill & use
...Flavor & Vapor amounts seem spot on
...Nice Price for High Quality Piece

I ordered another one, received it today. This one does have an o ring type seal on the bottom screw joint, my first one did not, that would explain why it was leaking there. Oh well I will see if i have something that I can use for a seal.
mikecup the little white o-rings off a Star Dust will work .
