Is it safe to use alcohol has a flavoring base in DIY E-Juice?

I keep reading forums and seeing actual companies use alcohols in there e-juices to either provide better flavor or to provide a throat hit. Some forums and websites say to use ethyl alcohol and some say to use PGA Pure Grain Alcohol. Are these even safe to vape? It seems a little sketchy. Thoughts?

PGA is ethyl alcohol - distilled from grain. Ethyl alcohol could be derived from any other source. As long as it's pure, and is indeed ethyl alcohol ( buy from reliable sources only ), it can add a little 'zing' to some flavours. Also useful for getting throat hit in low/no PG mixes.

The quantities required to achieve that are small : I get by with 1% to 2% .

Any freshly pressed fruit juice left standing for a little while has more than that from natural fermentation ...
