Is this cartomizer bad?

Edit: I'm a newbie, it's a coil or a cartomizer, I'm not sure what they're called.
I recently bought a bunch of cartomizers for my nautilus Aspire tank from a website which shall remain nameless for now, and they all came out of the packages looking like this with the coils exposed:

Is this still good to vape off of? The others I bought in years past didn't have the coils exposed like that. Are these bad? I don't know! Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

I'm not sure from the pic what you have there, but it doesn't look like any cartomizer I ever saw, so can't advise whether it's good or not.

Are those the BDC coils?

Its some kind of "coil" not a cartomizer.
Possibly a "BVC" or "BDC" but I don't really know those options. I know there are a few types that can fit an Aspire - some with horizontal coils, and some with the cotton around the outside of a vertical coil.

Looks like the new style coils, they moved the coil away from the wicking material to get better air flow and prevent premature gunking on them. Try one, I bet you will like them better than what you where using.

The BVC are Bottom Vertical Coils and the BDC are Bottom Dual Coil and reviews say they suck. That is what they look like but he has not responded if they are BDC. Scratch the Authentication Code to check for clone or fakes.

oh they're labelled as "Aspire Nautilus BDC (V1) Replacement Coil". If they're supposed to look like that, that's a huge relief to me, I would hate to have bought a defective product. I'll try them out and see if I like them, if I don't I'll just go ahead and try the BVC next time. Thank you everyone for getting back to me and helping me out.

Update us on how they work because I read that they have a problem wtih wicking and clogging or something to that affect.
