Oh sure you laugh, but....
That's my cousin after he won the Wisconsin state championship in Street class drag racing last year. And yes, that's the car he won it with.
Not with those tires.

Those are steel wire wheels with whitewall tires.Yes, with those tires.
Look close, the rear tires are slicks.
Hoosier tires are your friend.
Those are steel wire wheels with whitewall tires.
And your point is.....
The Street class is all about consistency, not outright speed. He only runs 18s in the 1/4 mile, but he's able to nail the same time within a couple of thousandths of a second over and over and over again.
Again,...relax.... I was busting your balls.
However,
Those arent slicks. Those are radial tires. Its not a sleeper, its a brick.
No, my car is the sleeper. Looks like a stock V6 Mustang except for the window tint and wheels. Everything else about it screams "Base model V6". But it's has a Procharger under the hood, new shifter, carbon fiber drive shaft, X-pipe exhaust, new adjustable suspension with the rear lowered so it sits flat and level (Front is still at stock height though), clean air filter, and custom tuned. It's dynoed at 437hp to the rear wheels which means it's pushing about 50hp more to the rear wheels than a GT, but weighs about 250lbs less.
And you can't really tell it's anything other than a stock V6 until I jump on the throttle and that supercharger starts to whine.
TapWhen i get to the shop today ill grab pics of a 450hp toyota inline 6 in a 1970 fj55.
It will lift the front tires off the ground and weighs as much as two mustangs.

My Mustang is my daily driver. It's fast, but it's meant for the street, not for drag racing.
When I go drag racing I'm not concerned about having a sleeper.
I've had to detune it to keep it under 150mph in the 1/4 mile. Any faster than that and I have to add in another $40k worth of parachutes, fire extinguishers, and other safety gear.
And at this point I think we've gone WAY off topic, so I'm done.
