I have one VTR from vapor beast and one from the ECF coop. Other than the coil, neither make any sort of noise when fired.
Thanks

Also, I used a magnifying glass to look for machine oil. There is no sign of any on either VTR.
Your lucky then. Mine smells so bad of machine oil that I have to use the iclear30s that came with it on the extension tube.

photo.jpg Here is a shot of the machine grease inside the 510 well of the VTR. When screwing the iclear 30s inside and vaping it, that machine oil goes straight to your lungs. At first i thought the nasty smell was from bad heads. I call this a health hazard that stems from poor quality control. It is rather unfortunate that pathetic quality control like this is a way the FDA can use as an example to back up their argument against vaping.

Sitting down, facing forward.
When I first got my VTR, the only noise I heard was the from the coil. But now, I hear a distinct buzzing noise coming from the area around the fire button. I'm also getting inconsistent Ohm readings. Something is not right.

Try spinning the 510 connector and spin it a lot, as in a few minutes worth. I'm not sure how the electrical connection is made there but it is probably prone to getting corrosion, naturally. My VTR was all over the place with ohm readings, from 2.2 to 5.8 on the same 30s until I sat there and spun that stupid rotating connector for a few minutes. Now it's fine.

can anyone who has one of these measure the tank diameter that will fit through the ring? Also a general length, width, height without the adapter would be awesome as well.

19mm diameter tanks. People have sanded out the top ring to accommodate 20mm toppers.

105mm (4 1/8") tall, 53mm (2 1/8") wide, 2cm (7/8") deep

Ive been using the adapter with both the I30S and a small rba and started getting erratic firing. Resitance/ohms readings reading "non" at times... the center pin on the bottom of the adapter had gotten pushed in some how. I took a small pick and pryed the pin out til it was flush with the outside of the connector and fixed the problem.

Two words (plus two more) - POCKET FRIENDLY (with tank)

I've used a provari for two years straight. Reo Grand - used two days and never again (I don't like squirting into atomizers). MVP - straight to the drawer (box with a tank sticking out? Looks ridiculous). The VTR is the first mod I've bought to unseat the Provari.

I've been waiting for this form factor a long time. I love my provari but its just too long. I almost bought the Billet Box but I don't want to carry around two spare batts all the time. 18650 with tank on the side is pocket friendly, long lasting, and convenient.

The VTR will shrink but for now its my go to mod now and my Provari is finally getting a well deserved rest!

Other than fasttech, where's a good place to order a VTR from? My local B&M has the kit for $130 (I don't think it comes with a battery or anything extra like that, which I would need) and I've seen some new on eBay for ~$85. I'm probably going to order from fasttech, but right now they have it listed as "ships in 15 days" and I'm feeling impatient.

I have a camo version coming in the vape mail today.
I think this tank will compliment the camo nicely

Neither of my two VTRs, that I got from two different US sellers, has the machine oil issue or the audible buzz from the power switch that seem to be fairly common problems based on what I've read here.

I was going to leave my second VTR unopened but decided this morning to open it up and check it while I could still return it if it was defective.

Yes, it would be nice if the VTR was lighter in weight but every single other thing about it seems like Innokin knew EXACTLY what constituted my ideal mod. It became my one and only in-use device within a minute of opening my first one 9 days ago.

The second wonderful new thing that came with the VTR is the new iClear 30S clearo. It blows my mind. I can't even get annoyed about the fact that the dual coil is encased in such a way that rebuilding appears to be impossible. I bought a 5-pack of the replacement metal tube/wick/coil units for $13 from Discount Vapers and consider it money well spent. What makes the 30S so good? I don't know, but I'm vaping joose at 12W that I can't vape in any other clearo at 8.5W without it getting burnt. The flavors that I'm now getting are giant steps better than anything before. I was curious to know if it was the 30S itself or if the VTR somehow delivered higher power without burning. After putting the 30S on my Vamo and bumping up the power to 12W, I get the same great tastes I get using the VTR. (Now, though, the Vamo feels like a toothpick.)

Criticisms and peeves regarding the VTR and the iClear 30S? Sorry, I got nothin'. It's a new day, people! (lol)
