I still haven't had anyone tell me I couldn't vape. The closest I came was a co-worker complained about the vaping. I had just converted over a half dozen smokers to vaping and our offices were filled with vapors. I was standing in the hall when she was complaining to the supervisor (who had just switched to vaping.) She started telling him that it was an 'overpowering' smell. I stood literally 5 feet behind her and blew clouds, CLOUDS I tell you, the whole time she complained. Then he asked her, do you smell it now? She said no. So, he said to turn around....the hallway was almost filled with vapor. He said, do you smell it now? She got red faced and stomped out of the office. She hasn't said another word. :)

that is beyond awesome. I coverted my boss and the head accountant. so im golden and can vape at my desk as much as i want to lol

in bed by my wife... and she vapes!

My wife never smoked...
I stopped smoking in the house when we moved into this one...
The "After Sex" smoke was the one that made not smoking in the house almost unbearable...

That first "After Sex" vape was PURE NIRVANA!!!

I've never had anyone tell me to stop, but I was at the zoo with my best friend and our kids and a lady rushed over because she thought he was smoking in the restaurant. It was cleared up immediately when she realized it wasn't a real cigarette.
Most people just ask "what is that thing?" whenever they see me vaping.

I sneaky! :D I must be doing something right because I vape in all sorts of "taboo" places and it's never been an issue. All manner of stores, buses, subway platforms... I'm not trying to prove any points - it's simply been a non issue.

The only time I ever got yelled at was outside, on a public sidewalk, in front of a hospital building. Once the Sergeant Major Security Guard was informed I was vaping and not smoking his response was "That's cool" and that was the end of it. So I guess that one doesn't even count.

My experience/complaint has been with the sneaky complainers. They won't say anything directly to me or the other 2 vapers that I associate with. They complain to the staff at whatever establishment we are at--hotel, restaurant, cruise ship, etc. The cruise ship even had the gall to put it in their newsletter that e-cigarettes were prohibited in the cabins. Really? How is my cinnamon or mint smelling vape possibly going to make an interior cabin on a cruise ship smell worse? I suspect that it was put in the paper more to pacify the complainers than deter the vapers. I will point out that none of the staff said a peep to us. A server in the dining room did accost a younger vaper sitting at a table next to us about "smoking" but we immediately pulled out our rigs and pointed out to him that she wasn't smoking--she was vaporizing and the annoying little guy went away but the very next issue of the daily paper included the e-cigs in with the analogs. I will admit that my cinnamon can make my husband sneeze if he inhales at the exact wrong moment, on a humid day, indoors, with the fans & a/c turned off but he is thrilled that I have almost completely given up the analogs--only 4 in the last month and that was because I had just been fired--took 2 and then dealing with my incompetent former supervisor over my vacation pay--took 2 more analogs to keep me from driving halfway across the state and breaking out a whole bunch of windows or heads! Note to self--call a labor lawyer first thing Monday.

I very rarely vape any place I wouldn't smoke - with a couple exceptions:
I will discretely vape when I'm watching my kid play in a softball game for a couple hours...I don't think anyone's ever noticed.
I vape in my house, where I wouldn't smoke.
I vape in a hotel room.
The ONLY place anyone's ever told me not to vape was at a poker table in a casino. They made a rule because a lot of people were doing it, and probably they had a tough time knowing if it was vapor or smoke from a distance and wanted to discourage a cloud of any type. It's reasonable. But I still take occasional discrete puffs, "stealth vaping" so I don't miss the pot I've been waiting 4 hours for by leaving the room (20 feet away, there's like 500 people smoking) - and there's maybe 2 or 3 employees out of a hundred who might notice and say "you're not allowed to use that in here" so I nod and tuck it in my pocket til they change the dealer.

Nope. Don't vape in public where I wouldn't smoke.

Ditto.

For all the people that are fine with not vaping in places where smoking is not allowed...

Would that still be true if you were not allowed to vape at the beach?
Would that still be true if you were not allowed to vape in a public park?
Would that still be true if you were not allowed to vape anywhere inside a baseball stadium?
Would that still be true if you were not allowed to vape anywhere on a college campus?

Not sure I understand your question/point. I wouldn't vape anywhere if I knew it wasn't allowed there. I wouldn't smoke somewhere it wasn't allowed. I wouldn't drink alcohol somewhere it wasn't allowed. I wouldn't fornicate somewhere it wasn't allowed. I tend not to do things in places where I know they're specifically forbidden/not allowed.

You normally disregard those types of rules? Or is it just vaping rules you disregard?

When I smoked and when I could drink (can't now because of my Diabetes)...

YES! I have done ALL those things...
Smoked in bathroom stalls to get that necessary fix (or used the private handicap bathrooms) Even in airports...
Used a hip flask when I was going somewhere that didn't allow drinking, IF I thought I would want a drink!
And fornicated in all kinds of places (stopped elevators, public parks, bedroom floors in new houses that were open but not yet sold,
In the car at God only knows how many places including a church parking lot, the bathroom at a party at someone's house...

YES YES YES!!!

And I bloody well vape wherever I am!

Some people say I have authority figure problems...
Actually, I don't...
I simply refuse to recognize anyone's authority over me, and do what I damn well want. But I also understand the potential consequences of my actions and am prepared to face them should they arise!

But that's just me!
