There are studies that say that nicotine and cotinine( metabolite) can produce accumulation of DHt (responsible for hair loss)

But those things are made on fibroblasts.

Hair loss is genetic. Any tiny effect from nicotine or any other substance is completely wiped out by the overwhelming genetic factors responsible.

I've seen many older people who smoke and have a full head of hair? I wonder why that is? Could it be that just vaping causes hair loss and not smoking?

I smell a rat. Sounds like someone is trying to dis vaping. If nicotine caused hair loss, there would be a lot of bald women out there.

I'm an ex-two pack a day smoker. I'm 36. I'd been smoking since the age of ten. I have all my hair, and no gray. So unless I'm some genetic superman (three ex-wives can attest this is not the case) or I'm an alien, this is bull.

My Husband didn't lose his hair or go bald. It just kind of slid backwards and came out his nose and ears as he got older........:lol::lol::lol:

I wake up sometimes shouting because I have this dream where it all happens in one day. The messed up thing is me having hair is rare. I usually buzz it all off every few months for convenience.

I would be one of those bald women (waves at Elphaba) but my hair ran away from home a good 14 years ago-and I just started vaping this year... I was a smoker at the time but it was sudden catastrophic stress that triggered the supposed alopecia genes into kick start~ not the nicotine, which I believe saved my ... from deep ending.

In the long run I can spend what I save on hair products on PV's:evil:

Zofryer, Stop buzzing your hair! It looks nice as is. Didn't your mom ever tell you not to make faces or it would get stuck like that? Same for buzzing!
Hubby has been smoking since he was 12, 50 years and he has all his hair.. except for the slightly receding widow's peak.
