I am looking for examples of early electronic cigarette products (or similar devices) that were purchased in early 2007 or in prior years. If you have such a product, please email me a photo and any information you have on where and when it was purchased, and please let me know if you would be willing to sell it.

Bill, you might want to contact Ruyan directly, they might help out with this. Their first patent, I believe, was issued in 2007.

Or maybe Janty. They say they started in 2006 with the Yentl:

Most of the early vets don't frequent the boards much anymore, but Cashmere from Puresmoker - www.puresmoker.com was one and could probably give you a better idea of which styles were available by early 2007. I believe the njoy Npro (RN4081), DSE-801 & 901 and the RN4075 were selling here during that period, but unfortunately that was a while before my time. If they were, they're still available from some U.S. suppliers.

Bill if you don't find what you're looking for from other members and can get a definitive list of which models were available I can hunt them down for you, and possibly help with some of the cost of purchasing.

Bill,

I might be able to help just a tad. Thanks for referencing me in this StormFinch :)

I have a few e-cigs from 2008. From what I have researched, there were no real developments between 2006-2008 because the tech just wasn't there. Today, we have advancements every day it seems like. Back then ~ the vaping population was so limited ~ China manufacturers weren't constantly updating their equipment. They all had their "base standard" models and that is what you bought. Whether it was us (PureSmoker), NJOY, SmokingEverywhere, etc.... All the equipment was the same.

In one of my pictures - although purchased in 2008, it has 2007 referenced in the tag itself (copied below)

I'm not entirely sure why I kept these old models, but atleast I'm happy to see they may go to go use :)

Old Models that were likely around in 2007/2008
:
DSE801
DSE901
RN4081
RN4072
RN4062
M401/M402

Manufacturer's Back Then:

Sailebao
First Union
Ruyan
Greencig
Joye <-- Not 100% sure when they got started

The ones in bold were also carried by NJOY back in 2007/2008.

Here are some pictures. Some are old ~ that were at one time on our website with a watermark. The ones without a watermark were taken today: [Apologize for the upside down ones - Photobucket won't correct them!]

Respectfully snipped for brevity.

Thank you for hopping in here Cash. I believe Bill is trying to find models that would pre-date any possible FDA February 2007 grandfathering rules. Here's hoping he has something sneaky up his sleeve. :)

The device was first introduced to the Chinese domestic market in May 2004 as an aid for smoking cessation and replacement. The company that Hon Lik worked for, Golden Dragon Holdings, changed its name to Ruyan (如烟, literally "Resembling smoking"), and started exporting its products in 2005–2006

I have some an Njoys and Titan 510's from around that era. Also have 901 and 801 atties and carts, but not the batteries that go with them. I never throw away anything.
