I'm wanting to make a micro coil hearing good things about it and was wondering, how many wraps do i need with what sizing drill bit to get a 1.4 ohm resistance??
I used 28ga on a 5/64 and I think it took around 12-14 wraps , been a long time since i built it though. I run 6 wraps on my mech and get .7 so 12 should be about right

rough calculation is
1/16" drill bit
28gauge = .12ohms per wrap
30gauge = .2 ohms per wrap
you can use these to estimate the number of wraps when you first start. once you do 4 - 5 of them, you will have feel for it.
