After using an Evolv DNA30/40/200 in the past 18 months, the only other board I tried was the Yihi SX350j in 2 different mods (SXM and Boxer). I sold both of them because they constantly burned my wicks. I'm very happy with my 4 DNA40 and 3 (soon to be 5) DNA200 mods. No interest in trying sub-par mods from china.

I had a couple chinese board early in my vape campaign.... but like you.. I've been using dna20/30/40/200 now for so long... I still have my svoemesto semovar, which uses the nivel chip... and it was decent but a battery hog, especially for a 15w tube. But I like my semovar. ;)

Dry and windy
AlpineTech box with the "glue" in chip holder.

I used the chip from my BRD squonker that got "wet". Once dried it still works!
Its been soldered and re-soldered quite a few times so its not a new one.
Because I didn't know for sure if the adhesive I was going to use would get to the screen or not
I put some Kapton tape on it for a screen saver. And it was a good thing. I first tried some 3M 8001
because it sticks to just about everything, and it did, including the screen when it oozed with the pressure
when I put the chip in place.

The screen is trapped under the chip holder. To remove it will probably be total destruction of the chip holder because of the glue. It might be possible to remove it all intact, but I'm hoping it will last forever!

Just noticed in my footer I have avoided 50k cigarettes, one huge nasty ashtray and they would measure 4.15 km or 2.58 miles laid end to end

After I got off cigalikes it was mostly very easy for me and any creds for any achievement belongs the tech and the supportive & informed community with me just along for the ride.

OK, this battery gets a "Mike's Thumbs UP"!

I got two of these batteries in yesterday.
$11.17 Authentic ZOP Power 11.1V 1500mAh 20C Li-Polymer Battery at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

The battery is rated 1500mAh and they clock in just shy of it, pretty damn close, a lot closer than many other brands.

While they are rated "1500mAh" they are the exact same size in every dimension as the Turnigy 1300. Even more curious is that the sticker on the two I got says 40C not 20C.

Actual unaltered measured dimensions are 71mm x 34mm x 23mm, although the wires exiting the head will eat up another mm. You "could" take off the heatshrink, reroute the wires, reinsulate it, and save a lot more room. I think you could get it down 66mm if you tried.

According to the Evolv Escribe Battery Analyzer:
Bat #1 - 15.49 WH
Bat #2 - 16.17 WH

Also do consider that this was the first cycle on both of these batteries, if anything the storage capacity improves after a few cycles.

Turnigy 1300mAh Avg - 14.14
ZOP 1500mAh Avg = 15.83

ZOP was an average of almost 11% more power for the exact same footprint of the Turnigy.

View my actual battery test results HERE, you can enter your own results too.
The Venom FLY battery (at twice the cost) is the only other tested battery that match this energy density.

Good energy density, at a great price, makes this battery a winner in my book.

Looking at the boxes on the Alpine Tech face book page I see they have the G+ boxes cut out for Mitec switches. I ordered one of these,

and these, DNA40 screen cradle. DNA40 Adjustable Combo Cradle by sanjosse on Shapeways

I have some of 12mm Mitec and some C&k switches and I kinda think that I can put a DNA40 with a single 18650 in there. I kinda checked the placement of the screen holder against the G+ box that I already have and it looks like it will fit, with room to use the pre-drilled holes for C&K switches.
Pictures to follow.

If it turns out to be a fail I will just throw a DNA200 in there and use the remote Mitec!
