Yes. As your vocal chords have become softer that they were used to be, you are dealing with new chords now. But these are better than older. Just give it the time. You will understand these newer vocal chords, softer, tender and capable of producing better modulations. But by habit, you are using the old style effort, in terms of techniques and energy. Should be OK in six months. Good luck with your singing

EDIT:

Non smokers suppose to better singers. And, you may need to adjust your scale, bit upper. It's is just a guess. You know it better :)

Oh I am so glad to hear that!!! I needed a singer to reassure me - it scared the heck out of me - I was having trouble staying on key (I am not great LOL, but I could stay on key..) And my voice definitely already has a higher range than before and I have a lot more air - just trouble with control, and some raspiness that is more than I already had - which was quite a bit - LOL!! I haven't sang off smokes in front of anyone ever...I sang when I was younger, but really started after the time I was already smoking....so i am just so confused with whatever is going on :D Keep me feeling good about it, Nom!!

Kudos Xena! :toast:
The sheer bubbling over with happiness joy expressed in your posts just made my day!

vaping is awesome and so are you!

((hugs)) I couldn't be more excited!! Even though some bad things have happened to me in the last 6 months - I know I am going to live longer, I may never have those oxygen tanks after all , and things will get better - LOL, picture me as an optimist for the first time in my life ever - LOL!!! If I can make you smile - you made my day better!!

Hi xena222,
I am glad to hear all the good news from the Dr...congratulations on the vaping results. I my self have a Pulmonary specialist Dr App't coming up
on the 28th of this month. I hope my news is as good! I Just started vaping in June, and suffer from emphysema so am hoping I gt the same news as you.
I know my lungs will never get better but I am hoping that the vaping keeps me off analogs to save what I have left.
JIM
p.s. I will post the Dr response here on the forum
Awww, GrandPapa - your name says it all...hehe, I think you have a lot of things to stick with for :D Sticking to where you are might not be perfect - but not getting worse is going to save you from what my mom went through...I never want to see another person ever go through that ((hugs)) If I can ever help, or you just need some encouragement...I'm out here :D And apparently I am a pretty good cheerleader - LOL!!
I can't wait to see what your doc says!!! I am more excited for you now than me <3

I'm so proud of you and so happy for you!

My last chest x-ray, the specialist actually sent an angry message to the x-ray tech to send up the correct x-ray set (ones taken 8 months before and the most recent ones.) The tech came up in a storm and pointed out some "landmarks" on my rib cage to prove he'd sent the right ones up the first time. You know the improvement is impressive when your cardiopulmonary guy is literally breathless at difference (and truthfully, that was only a reduction in my smoking at that point, not the full "quit".) He's going to poop himself when he gets a peek at my lungs in 6 months.

Time to get a bicycle. Maybe we could put together a mountain bike team of vaping moms and go bombing down rad trails at brain smashing speeds?
