Nautilus Problem

A novice to the game needs to know why I cannot remove the base hardware from the tank on my Aspire nautilus without pliers. Is there a fix?

You may still need pliers to separate them, but try putting the tank into the freezer for several minutes to get the metal to contract.

The tank pieces need only be "snug", not so tight.

I don't know, really. Never tried freezing it.

I know some folks preparing for the possible unfavorable Federal Regulations by storing their concentrated nicotine in large quantities in the freezer.

Nope, ejuice does not freeze. At least not in your normal freezer. It will eventually freeze if you get it to some ridiculous temperature like -40.

Once you get the tank separated from the base, rub a bit of juice on the lower gasket. When you screw it back together, quit tightening it once you feel resistance. You don't need to "bear down" on it.

I think this is just typical manufacturing variances. I have two Nautilus tanks. One works very smooth and the bottom hardware unscrews easily from the tank. The other, I can still unscrew by hand, but it takes quite a bit of force. I'm pretty sure the issue is with the bottom hardware, as I have used this with the stock glass tank and the replacement glass and steel tank and they are both the same, and when you replace the glass tank with the glass and steel, you are also replacing the chimney in which the coil gets screwed into. Many times, when unscrewing this uncooperative bottom hardware, I actually end up unscrewing the coil from the bottom hardware (the bottom hardware is removed, but the coil is still screwed into the chimney).

i have the nautilus mini and same thing. you need popeye forearms to wrench this thing off. i am affraid i am gonna crack the glass

You might have created a "vacuum lock" by vaping the juice too far down. I think I saw someone mention to blow a puff through the mouthpiece right before you try to loosen it - supposed to help break the vacuum.

Like Baditude says, snug, but not over-tight. Coil included. And how you mount it to your device

All I've ever used to unscrew my Nautilus Mini's is a rubber band wrapped around the bottom. Works just like one of those kitchen gripper thingy's.
