The FDA Approved Dr. Farsalinos Flavor Survey
Recently we had asked our fans to take our poll on flavors and also submit a comment to the FDA on the subject. We greatly appreciate those that participated. This time we have a much more important request, with a more important outcome. In addition to the comments that you've left for the FDA, we are hoping that you will also take part in Dr. Farsalinos' survey using FDA software. This will better help the FDA understand how flavors play a role in adult use.

In March, the FDA published an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPRM) regarding standards for flavored vapor products. An ANPRM is the beginning of the rule making process and serves as an opportunity for all stakeholders to provide feedback to the agency by way of comments and scientific studies.

As part of the effort to address some of the questions posed by the FDA in the ANPRM regarding flavored vapor products, Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos has developed a survey. The data collected will provide valuable information about patterns of e-cigarette use with a focus on the role that flavors play.

Help needed from never-smokers.

Please forgive the "solicitation" here, but the Veritas Cohort study desperately needs help from the vaping community.

If you haven't already heard about it, Veritas is an international study that could finally put an end to the idea that we don't know the risks of vaping. Unlike other studies looking into the effects of regular vaping, this one is studying never smokers or those who barely smoked (less than 1,000 cigarettes in their life.) Thus, while other studies confuse the effects of vaping with the damage caused by years or decades of smoking, Veritas would be able to see how much or--more likely--how little danger vaping actually poses.

The problem is that never smokers who vape are exceedingly rare. This is one of those good problems, of course, but it poses a huge challenge for the study organizers. Even though they need only about 40 people per site, they're having a hard time finding potential participants.

All that would be required from subjects is a visit to a doctor once a year for non-invasive tests and filling out questionnaires a few times a year.

This study is absolutely critical: it will give vapers and smokers a better understanding of the risks and benefits of switching and could also help to stop the increasingly insane effort to ban e-cigarettes.

So, forgive me again for posting this sort of plea on the forum, but if you think you might qualify or know someone who might please please register and spread the word.
