So NIDA director Nora Volkow attacks no-nicotine vapor products, claims decreasing their appeal will become “more urgent as studies emerge that identify the adverse outcomes,” despite vaping’s negligible risks and lifesaving benefits for smokers.
Survey: Teens still intrigued by e-cigarettes

Interestingly, this MTF survey question and findings (presented in figure above) were presented by NIDA, but were never mentioned in any of the MTF data tables or press releases.

The MTF also found that e-cig use declined by teens. But that was never mentioned in NIDA or MTF press releases.

MTF also decided to deceive the public and teens to believe that vaping is harmful by asking teens if they believed regular e-cig use may be harmful. And due to DHHS and Big Pharma shills demonizing vaping since 2009, the survey found that slightly more teens have been duped since 2014 by the deceitful propaganda.

NIDA funded 2015 Monitoring the Future survey finds record low lifetime, past-30-day, daily and ½ pack+/day teen cigarette smoking rates among 8th, 10th, and 12th graders;
- past-30-day cigarette smoking declined 10% among 8th graders (from 4.0% to 3.6%) since 2014, declined 12% among 10th graders (from 7.2% to 6.3%), declined 16% among 12th graders (from 13.6% to 11.4%),
- daily cigarette smoking fell 7% among 8th graders (from 1.4% to 1.3%), fell 6% among 10th graders (from 3.2% to 3.0%), fell 18% among 12th graders (from 6.7% to 5.5%),

MTF Data Tables and Figures

2015 MTF finds 50% decline in past-30-day teen cigarette smoking since 2010 (as vaping has skyrocketed), but MTF press release absurdly credits tax hikes, advertising and promotion restrictions, smoking bans, CDC’s anti smoking ads, school anti tobacco programs, TCA’s ban on <1% of flavored cigarettes, quit-smoking programs and FDA approved drugs.

2015 MTF finds past-30-day e-cig use by teens DECLINED 5% (from 13.9% to 13.2%), increasing 9% among 8th graders (from 8.7% to 9.5%), declining 14% among 10th graders (from 16.2% to 14.0%), and declining 5% among 12th graders (from 17.1% to 16.2%), but MTF buries e-cig prevalence data in data tables.

NIDA MTF data chart and press release MTF found just 20% of teens who used e-cigs vaped nicotine, finds most just inhaled flavorings, falsely refers to vaping as “smoking”, but that data was never reported in Univ of Michigan MTF data tables or press releases.

Drug use trends remain stable or decline among teens

NIDA director Nora Volkow attacks no-nicotine vapor products (in response to MTF finding that just 20% of teen e-cig users reported vaping nicotine), claims decreasing their appeal will become “more urgent as studies emerge that identify the adverse outcomes” despite vaping’s negligible risks and lifesaving benefits for smokers.
Survey: Teens still intrigued by e-cigarettes

2015 MTF fails to provide critically important cross tab data for e-cig use, cigarette use and dual use (unlike in 2014 http://monitoringthefuture.org/data/14data/14tobtbl29.pdf) and asked deceptive question about reasons e-cigs were used so MTF surveyors could deceptively claim that few teens used e-cigs to quit smoking.

http://monitoringthefuture.org/pressreleases/15Eecigtbl.pdf

NIDA funded MTF surveyor Richard Miech falsely claims survey found e-cigs are not used by teens to quit smoking, falsely insinuates that e-cigs are as harmful as cigarettes, lobbies for FDA e-cig ban and an e-cig flavoring ban by falsely claiming TCA’s ban of select cigarette flavorings (accounting for <1% of flavored cigarettes) reduced smoking.

NIDA MTF press release includes the slight increase among teens who inaccurately believe regular e-cigarette use is harmful under the headline “The Good News". Monitoring the Future Survey, Overview of Findings 2015

NIDA director Nora Volkow criticizes teen smokers for switching to vaping “many students appear to be transitioning to e-cigarettes, which are unregulated and can contain nicotine and other harmful products”, absurdly claims the increase in teen marijuana smoking was due to the decline in cigarette smoking. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/16/us/report-finds-less-misuse-of-painkillers-by-teenagers.html

2015 MTF survey finding 7% of teens smoked a cigarette in past-30-days shatters DHHS’s Healthy People 2020 target of 16% for high school students, which is the only Healthy People goal ever achieved for tobacco use.
Tobacco Use | Healthy People 2020

2015 MTF finds use of cigarillos (little cigars) declined among teens from 2014, but MTF surveyors falsely insinuate flavored cigars are gateways to cigarettes and are as harmful as cigarettes to lobby for FDA deeming reg/ban for cigars.

Wait! How is that possible? According to the ANTZ, there's an "alarming" explosion in teen e-cig use. Could it possibly be that they lose interest once the novelty wears off?

I think that even happens with us non-teens using them to stay off cigarettes -- hence the rampant shinyitis! :lol:

I have a coworker, 20's, who smoked for may be 5 years. He is the one who helped me get started. Today he told me he buys a 30 ml bottle and it lasts him 3 weeks. So he vapes less than 2 ml per day. He says if the government makes it too hard to get e liquid he'll just stop. Lucky kid. mossapa the chemist who started a thread here a while back says the younger you are the easier it is to walk away from cigs.

There's quite a dustup over ecigs in malaysia right now. It appears the government does not have a unified view. All the stories are about the struggle between ecig traders and government as though the consumers did not exist. In Asia and the Mideast public health authorities tell outrageous lies. Don't they know most people have internet access?

Well hell, our own "public health authorities" are telling outrageous lies.

Some reporters are covering this important news.

One Of The Biggest E-Cigarette Scare Tactics Has Just Been Debunked

After MTF survey finds <20% of teen vapers vape nicotine (which disproves dozens of false fear mongering claims about e-cigs repeated by Obama’s DHHS, its funding recipients and Big Pharma shills since 2009), NIDA director Nora Volkow now claims no-nicotine e-cigs are target marketed to youth as gateways to drug containing e-cigs;
