How about cotton balls, @skoony, will they be gone too?

PG will not disappear from feed stores or Tractor Supply.

VG will not disappear from vendors who cater to people who make their own soap or skin care section of

Flavors will not disappear from vendors who cater to people who use them in foods.

The FDA does not have the authority to make that happen and knows it would get shot down in the courts if it tried.

DIY may become less convenient than it is now, but it will be possible, *if* you have nic.

Nic is the obvious chokepoint.

Got nic? :D
PG and VG sales face to face only with a valid ID and or your
sworn statement you are not using these products for
un-approved substances. ie;Indiana's new laws.
No court cases are necessary. There are legal OTC
products that have sales restrictions placed on them.
Its all quite legal.
Nicotine is the obvious choke point. So is our southern border.
I am not saying they will go as far as I believe they can go.
However if they chose that route they very well can do it.
The legal and regulatory precedents are already in place.

Seems at odds with:

My prediction
is they are going to go after everything. The whole enchilada, supersized
with a large coke.
PG/VG,flavors,anything DYI related gone.

Not at all. I have always said for the FDA its an all or nothing deal.
They will just write it up similar to Indiana's laws and apply it as
they see fit to best meet the current situation. By selective enforcement
they can take a wait and see attitude. If DIY doesn't present a problem
to their main goal of reining in most of us vapers, especially future potential
vapers they most likely turn a blind eye towards it. However if in fact DIY
becomes more main stream and interferes with their control over the
vaping industry rest assured the regulations will be written in such a
way as to be ready for that contingency and things we haven't even
thought of yet.

The FDA deeming regulations are already written in such a way that they could go after anything they want.

But I think the focus will be on free-roaming nicotine because that's all they need to kill.
If they kill that, pretty much everything else dies along with it.

It's why people should consider stocking up on nicotine base. Everything else can be handled in some manner - even if it means getting someone else to do it.

We will certainly find out if nicotine is as necessary of an ingredient as
everyone makes it out to be.

Maybe not for everybody, but it is for me, at least at this point. And I think most people would need it for replacing smoking. Most never smokers probably wouldn't need it to start getting into vaping.

You make a good point.

I believe that a LOT of smokers could quit smoking by vaping zero nicotine.
I've read stories of that happening in some quit-smoking forums.

But most likely not all smokers could do it that way.

I wish there was a way to see what percentage of people zero nicotine would work for.
But not through any kind of regulations or other restrictions.

I am quite sure many do need the nicotine at first, and many perhaps indefinitely.
And I'm also sure that WTA is something that many smokers need as well.

But yeah, this is the kind of stuff I wish funding would go towards studying.
It might be nice to try and understand all of this.

It is kind of important if you really care about "solving" this "problem" of why people really smoke.
But it seems that those doling out the money don't care about any of that.

IMO, the question to be considered should not be whether to stock some nic base, but how much.

Pro-Tip for any new vapers that might be reading this: A liter of 100mg base is a 3-5 year supply for most people and you can buy it for about what a carton of cowboy killers costs -- in a state with low cigarette taxes.

If and when I stop procrastinating I plan on getting into DIY. The way I see it there is no
down side to it no mater what happens.

DIY is easier than you think. I have not bought juice from any vendor in over 1.5 years. Mine tastes better. :) -Go to the DIY sub forum. We will all be more than glad to help you get started.
