Hit me with your best shot Lol

Actually, it was more self-moderation in deference to ECF's policy on narcotic related posts.

I too suffer from permanent chronic pain but am able to manage with pharmaceuticals that shall remain nameless. I never feel high from them though.

Then yay for pain relieving drugs!
Again, thanks! Yep, another one of those deals where the Government thinks they know better than me and a Pain Specialist. We were doing just fine and the DEA started breathing down his neck. Well, thank God he's not the only doctor backing me up. I think I can live with what he's prescribing and the doses now. Had to make some modifications. Not quite what it used to be, but I'll live. Hell, he randomly tests my urine when I go in to prove I'm not on anything else.

That's cool, just having fun. Yeah, I've mentioned what I'm on and the doses before so it's not necessary. I wouldn't say I feel high from the medicine but after a few hours, I feel good enough to be in a decent enough mood to be myself and chat. I'm a people person but when in pain, I tend to get a little reclusive. So yeah, when I'm not noticing the pain anymore, that's what makes me happy and puts me in a good mood. It's kind of weird, the pain is still there but it doesn't "hurt" as much and I don't care as much. Make sense?

Just be careful. My mother was in a lot of pain and doctors kept prescribing narcotics to her. At the end, she couldn't remember what she took or when, so her last night on earth, she evidently overdosed and passed away in her sleep. It was a shock for sure as I had just moved them to Tampa and this happened two weeks to the day they moved here.

Wow. I am shocked and very sad to read this. That sucks...
Yeah, I know. My retired school teacher Aunt is always in disbelief how much pain meds I'm on but she also asks you to "blow the vapor that way" and can't vape in her car.
Jackie is in the health field and gets it. She won't let me drive at certain times (although it's legal) and isn't concerned with the dosage. My doctor isn't going to up my dose anytime soon, that's for sure. I doubt he ever will. Jackie had to go with me and confirm I was waking up in the recliner yelping in pain. She could hear me upstairs.

That's cool. Pinball and Pool everyday for me. Batman when I have the time Lol Jackie's going to teach me Snooker. I'll wait to start that career for when she gets home. Believe it or not, a real fun game to play on LIVE is Monopoly. You wouldn't believe how seriously people take that game, especially the younger ones. Kind of funny.
Jackie and I will play Trivial Pursuit, also.

When the coroner took my mother out of the house, he took all her narcotics. Only he had to ask for a 20 gallon trash bag and he commented he'd never seen that many prescription narcotics in his life. Turns out every doctor my mother visited prescribed drugs to her. I blame them for her death more than her.

Wow sorry to hear that, the medical field is a joke imo, most of them anyways.

Wow. Unbelievable. That really totally sucks. So sorry to read this.
Around here, we are on some sort of pharmaceutical database. They (my doctor's office and I'm sure pharmacy) know what, where and when. In fact, I had to sign a narcotics agreement and give a copy to my pharmacy stating I wouldn't go anywhere else. If I change pharmacies, I have to tell my doctor's office. He will only prescribe one month at a time and like I said, tests my urine to insure the right amount is in my system (what they said).
