I was there again yesterday with quite a few of the other Oklahoma Vape shop owners, our local CASAA representative and our Lobbyist trying our best to discourage the passing of HB 2097. It only passed by one vote at the last second, so there are at least a few in the Capitol that are on our side.

It will now go to the House for a vote, then on to committee to be re-written. We have to keep after them to either get it thrown out, or at the very least have it re-written in a language that allows the growing Oklahoma vaping community to continue the way it has been.

The call to action has now changed to be recommended that we support the bill HB 2097...

The changes now include that sales to minors are still prohibited but there will be no taxes added to the sales of e-cig and supplies, it will not make it illegal to purchase online, it will not define e-cig supplies as tobacco, it will not require a license to sell and they also reduce the tax on tobacco products such as snus that have a low incidence of causing cancer.

See the CASAA call to action here CASAA: Call to Action! SUPPORT New Version of Oklahoma Bill to Ban E-Cigarette Sales to Minors - HB 2097 (UPDATED)
