"Dr. Bruce Campbell, a cancer specialist at the Medical College of Froedtert in Wisconsin, even encourages the use of e-cigarettes if it helps smokers stop smoking. "Any time we can get people to cut down on smoking," he says, "it's a good thing!"

i would love to have Bruce Campbell for a doctor!! as long as he doesnt check my prostate with that chainsaw hand thingy...

but i also noticed at the end of the article, there was this:

"E cigarette - Ecigarettesnational.com is your one stop source for e-cigarette related products. Visit http://www.ecigarettesnational.com"

does that mean it isnt REALLY an article?

Heck if I know, but the content is outstanding.
It was posted at Kiplingers.com, so I'm not sure what to make of this now.

But regardless, it is, again, outstanding content at a very reputable media outlet.

OK. Flame me if you wish, but I'm going to excersise my opinion here.

This guy is writing 'articles' about e-Cigarettes. Good articles at that. He's also advertising his business, which I might point out sells blank refill cartridges for $6.99 for a pack of five and prefilled for $9.80 for a pack of five.

His 'Penstyle' e-cigarette is $74.99 and "Each cartridge is the equivalent to 20 cigarettes."

You guys are "digging" the article so to speak and simply boosting his advertising power when he's clearly ripping people off much like SE that has been all but deemed a devil here. Are these not the type of people you guys are against?

I'm sorry but consumers just really confuse me sometimes. It's like the person that will drive 25 miles to buy gas that is .04 cents cheaper per gallon than their local gas station.

I'd suggest we save our diggs for the really important articles written in major outlets rather than press releases.
Yeah, I didn't notice it was a press release last night, due to beer issues.
It is unfortunate that it has a link at the bottom for an electronic cigarette seller.

But it is still very clear, concise, and to the point.
And it is exactly what I would hope for the American public to read.

And I may be a bit naive, but I thought Kiplinger's was a pretty highly respected place.
Of course, I don't understand all the ins and outs of the interwebathons.
Just seemed like a good place for smart people to read it.

Of course, being smart and all, they might also notice that essentially it is an advertisement.

I apologize if I come across angry. I am not. I just hate seeing people duped by sneaky advertising. If you notice at the top of the story it was submitted to Kiplingers by 24-7 Press Release Newswire. This is a company that you or I can pay to submit a "press release" to media outlets.

No need for apology. Valuable lesson pointed out to those of us that missed the advertisement aspect. We'll just be a bit more observant next time out!

Thanks for keepin' us on our toes!

On topic, i agree on not digging this. If folks are like me, they will view "advertorials" with a skeptical eye.
