Yes, been a photographer as a side line and hobby for many many moons. Paid for a lot of my college as a wedding photographer, but I do prefer scenics, still life, animals and candids. The frog in flower is my work, the bubble a web find. I'll often just do a web search for an appropriate to the mood image, so what I put up here could be either

And go for it, DC. Get a decent digital and have fun. One with "advanced" features is a good choice - you can use it in Auto mode and get great pics, and learn the advanced features on your own schedule. And lots of good free and or cheap software to replace the old darkroom. (I don't miss that part at all!
